I’ve got depression and anxiety and I won’t shut up about it. I’m not a trained professional but I’m a survivor; a very in-depth case study of how one woman lost her mind and managed to come back stronger, better and more kick-ass than before.

I had a breakdown in 2012.

I was unable to work due to mental illness for the best part of a year and lost my career, confidence and the ability to function in society. I slowly – and I mean SLOWLY – got myself back into a zero responsibility job and continued to work on a part-time basis for a year.

Now I’m a part-time blogger, writer and cafe worker. During my recovery I ran a half marathon, planned a wedding and moved to a new city all without any major relapses in my mental health.

I happen to think that’s pretty damn amazing.
