Amateur/HAM HF (High Frequency) and CB (Citizen's Band) Radio from an apartment with a balcony railing to mount an antenna to.
Others operators of both realms told me that I'd never work HF particularly from an apartment because I would never be able to put a worthwhile enough antenna. Of course they also told me that I wasn't smart enough to get my Amateur Radio license, and not only did I get the Technician Plus but later upgraded to General Class. I've been playing with the idea of getting the Advanced/Extra class license. Maybe the coming Fall through Winter I might crack the book and start studying!
