Always thinking of my brother Daniel Arteaga who died in Los Angeles Sheriff's Department deputies' custody while at the downtown LA's Twin Towers facility in mid-January of 2018. Upon his death on January 19th around midnight, he was transferred to a USC Medical facility where his body was revived on the 20th and "officially" declared deceased on the 24th, well outside "their jurisdiction." By rushing him away off their premises/property and acting like they saved him, they effectively by-passed any and all laws and regulations requiring an investigation into a death of a inmate in their custody. Apparently they have to report it to the county DA's office. If I believe they will do that voluntarily, then I'm a damn fool. They effectively "washed their hands" of any liability and that is unacceptable. He's not even on the sheriff's website under the In-Custody deaths section.. Let's ask why!!
