Matt Appleyard is a truly rounded musician. A multi-instrumentalist who writes, records, and produces all his own material, Matt is an artist to watch.
Originally from London, Matt’s career has surrounded him with musicians of huge talent and calibre. Performing and recording with such artists as Florence and the Machine, Dizzee Rascal, The Royal Philharmonic Orchestra and Nottingham’s very own Rob.Green.
His own influences include Paul Simon, Seal, Muse and many more, inspiring him to write thought-provoking soulful lyrics with instrumentals described as folk-flavoured prog-soul. His new album Sunday Afternoon is his favourite project to date. Written, recorded and produced during the 2020/2021 lockdown, it is a wholly personal reflection on his experiences and the experiences of those people close to him.
