"WHAT IS A HODAG," you ask?

It is a mythical beast that stalked Wisconsin's Northwoods at the turn of the last century. Eugene Shepard from Rhinelander capitalized on the rumors by turning the non-existent mythical animal into a sideshow-attraction at the County Fair.

News stories about the ferocious beast spread coast-to-coast. But when The Smithsonian came to see the live Hodag -- Shepard admitted it was a hoax. Over a Century later, my hometown of Rhinelander is still "HOME OF THE HODAGS."

About this channel: It started with an elk video in '07.
Subscribers to Back-Stage Hodag71 will see mostly underappreciated and/or rare songs that fly under the radar. Most of the music was never mass distributed. Some songs are alternate versions, live concert videos, hidden gems, and/or vintage recordings that still hold up. Hopefully you will gain appreciation for artists you might not be familiar with.
