Apex Legends is taking a page out of Dota2's book and releasing item bundles for fans and players to purchase that will partially fund an increased prize pool for the Apex Legends Global Series.
While the ALGS originally had a prize pool of one million dollars, through the sale of the item bundles and crowdfunding, fans are able to increase the pool to a maximum of 3 million dollars.
Crowdfunding prize pools has helped Dota2's The International become the highest-paying event in esports, so we're excited to see Apex Legends dip their toes and test the waters.
