I think this is the chapter that REALLY shows that this is an Apex fanwork. Let's talk about Fenrir. Fenrir is an original character I made specifically and only for this project, but you'll see his relevance to the story soon enough.

I'll be honest, I didn't know what I meant after I wrote "It's in our blood to help one another", it made the most sense to me when I wrote it but I guess it meant "compassion is deeply rooted in human nature".
"People across cultures seem to experience greater well-being when they help others, suggesting this may be a human universal." So I guess I wasn't too far off when I wrote that... I hope that makes sense.

PLEASE NOTE, I wrote this scene specifically a day before the video "The Old Ways - Stories from the Outlands" was released. It was completely shocking to me that they almost did exactly what I wanted to do for my fan story, but it was a little different. And it almost completely bummed me out for wanting to do this project. But, alas, I pushed through, I continued, because I enjoy doing it too much. Plus, what if some people will like my story better??
