So Kiryu is actually the conciousness of the original Godzilla inside a massive weapon of destruction. So basically, Kiryu is Godzilla with a gun. Hard to beat that.

My favorite part of the animation is that Kiryu did not go on instantly after Akane went down. Godzilla's spirit only took control AFTER the Dragonzord's roar, just like in the movies where it goes berserk when hearing another Godzilla

Yeah the second Akane loses control, you're not fighting MechaGodzilla anymore. You're literally fighting the original Godzilla, and the King of the Monsters does not pull punches.
