As a Louisvillian with a very long memory, I would like to correct/add a couple of things to Sullivan's statements and make an observation on what another school is doing to partially correct the financial situation. First, the football affiliations that Louisville has had have been: ACC, American/Big East, Conference USA, Independent, Missouri Valley. That's as far back as I go. (Yes, I still remember Lee Corso was our coach.) Everyone of those continues to exist today. Second, Louisville did apply to the Big XII and was favored by Oklahoma to be admitted. The vote came down to Louisville and West Virginia and West Virginia was chosen. One year later, Louisville joined the ACC. Another of the schools that I attended was the University of Notre Dame. I usually attend 1 game each year, in addition to my Louisville season tickets. My Louisville ticket prices were set last January, and were the same as in 2023. Louisville is playing at Notre dame this season, so naturally that is the game that I have chosen to attend. In addition there will be no TV. (I know Peacock will be streaming, but at 75, I don't consider that TV.) Notre Dame set its ticket prices in May, which is when I bought my 8 tickets. The price, if you have to ask, you can't afford them. Seriously, it's obvious what ND did. They doubled the ticket price from what it was last season. They are still nearing a sellout even at those prices. I have no idea whether parking will be increased also. Is this model sustainable?

Louisville fits better in the big 12

Louisville's Financial Numbers were down due to a TERRIBLE HIRE that some Boosters who had too much influence FORCED on our Program to hire a former Player who had ZERO Head Coaching Experience. After more than 3 Decades of leading the Nation in Attendance (Top 5) in Men's Basketball FANS of the program REVOLTED and largely REFUSED to attend or Donate to the Men's Basketball Program until this HORRIBLE Coach was Fired. Considering the FACT that Louisville BASKETBALL earns more money than all but about 20 FOOTBALL Programs in the Nation this Feckless and Irresponsible Hire severely damaged Louisville's Bottom Line. Imagine the DISASTER it would be if Ohio St, Oklahoma, Alabama or the like made such a blunder in Football. If they were to LOSE 75% of their FANBASE in Football their Financial Situation would also collapse. Louisville BASKETBALL punches well above their weight-class to Rival the Income of Programs like that ESPECIALLY when you consider SELLOUTS in Basketball are 20,000 and not 80,00 to 100,000 fans.
  • I’m gonna continue to hold out hope for a B1G or SEC invite as slim as the chance is but I’d be okay with landing in the Big 12.

Sabon got out of college football at the right time!
  • As a Louisville fan, I wouldn’t mind moving to the Big 12, I think we fit much better in that conference. The ACC is going downhill, especially in basketball. Duke and UNC are the ONLY elite teams, unless teams like Virginia, us, and Wake Forest get better. Football is HORRIBLE in this conference. Clemson is going downhill as a football program bc Dabo Swinney is STUBBORN to not use the transfer portal, FSU isn’t super elite this year since they lost Jordon Travis, Trey Benson, Johanny Wilson, etc, TONS of talent lost on the Seminoles. Louisville to me will need to consider going to a better conference bc we can’t get better as a program if we play in a WEAK conference, that’s why the SEC is so DOMINANT bc they have tons of big names like Bama, Georgia, etc

They better put a cap on NIL very soon or player's are going to abuse the hell out of this and let's not forget there's gonna be busts I really think this is going to ruin college sports if it hasn't already smh 😮

The hiring of Kenny Payne will hurt Louisville for many years to come. Terrible DEI hire.
