A time when competition wasn't as famous. I think they didn't add many details, especially physics, due to the competitive nature, leaving players more focused on the target than on the details.

if I am not wrong, CS:GO used to have physic objects like barrels and boxes that can be shot around, they are eventually removed due to creating more issue in game and competition I believe
  • @YT_Drago
I think most of the physics that cs2 doesn't have is because of competitive reasons
  • @bilaliqbal7633
Adding environmental physics in a competitive game gets disadvantages in gameplay and optimization, so in my opinion CS2 had to keep it fair and remove it
  • @Nyllsor
Source 2 has alot better physics engine. Its no news that for years in CS:GO they changed all prop_physics (like barrels) to prop_static because of gameplay reasons.

oldie but goldie "fire in the hole" good old times with sleepless nights and tons of fun
  • @CasualG-mer
I think they should add a separate mode similar to CS Source for CS2...like a Fun/Party mode where all things have physics.
  • Counter Source is compatible with a multitude of mods that make it even more realistic than CS2. For example, the weapon skins of the new modern warfare and their animations

The CS series is end for players like me, who playing just for fun, removing physics kill the fun parts of the game. Valve need to add servers with physics enabled (on/off option)
  • @BrawnyBuddha
Has someone ever been killed by a flying barrel?
  • @BaconPuncakesX
it's funny to think that, the same death sounds have been used all these years.

"the removal of physics is for competetive reasons tho" ☝️🤓

    CS SOURCE GTA 4 - CS GO GTA 5 - CS 2 GTA 6
  • To satisfy every player Valve should add something like two game modes to CS2. One with maps for "competetiveness" and the other with maps that have actual physics for the nerds like me.
