E3 2004 Nintendo annonce Zelda Twilight Princess

Miyamoto appearing on stage with the master sword and hylian shield after everyone was already freaking out about a new Zelda game being out might honestly be the coolest moment in E3 history

This is bringing tears to my eyes. You can see the genuine joy on Miyamoto's face as he's holding the sword and shield.

My god looking back at it and its still epic

“Blades will bleed, shields will shatter” They straight up predicted botw over a decade ahead of time

This is why I loved E3. Those moments. Huge surprises. No major public leaks. Before the internet idiots started to count the polygons the moment the trailer leaked a week before the presentation. Just pure joy in the moment.

I’m an old enough fart that I remember watching this live. That trailer was probably one of my favorite E3 moments next to the reveal of the Nintendo DS. Even though we all loved Wind Waker we definitely craved the more adult Link in a darker Hyrule. Those days are gone. It’ll never be like it was back then and I’m grateful I got to experience it.

At 0:23, that one guy screaming figured it out before everyone else because of the music.

I still remember this moment so well... Can't believe it's been almost 20 years.

La saga de The legend of Zelda en el 2000 (Majora's Mask) era una saga que se había culminado como una de culto, de alto estándar, pero iniciando la década las expectativas habían bajado porque salió The Wind Waker, Four Swords y The Minish Cap, es decir, la gente vio cómo caricaturizaron la franquicia, parecía una burla (claro, después con el tiempo, aquellos juegos ganaron el reconocimiento que merecen). Pero entonces, se anuncia Twilight Princess, que a toda luces parecía seguir la estela de Ocarina of Time, pero mejorado, con un Link sacando la espada mientras montaba a caballo. Un hermoso juego iba a nacer, y la gente lo sabía perfectamente, porque era lo que habían estado esperando hace años. Twilight Princess es una obra maestra.

You know why this is epic? Because those were REAL emotional reactions, not like nowadays, where most youtubers overact too much. Truly one of the most epic and emotional moments in videogame history.

Even after that cool-ass trailer, Miyamoto comes out goofy as ever.

You really have to know what was going on in the world of Zelda at this time. There were a lot of people upset with the artistic approach that Wind Waker took and wanted a style more like Ocarina of Time. Then Nintendo drops this trailer, reusing the music samples from Conan the Barbarian. That ending shot of Link sheathing his sword is still super epic!

Everyone now in the aftermath of Twilight Princess, you don't understand the sheer unbridled hype of seeing this trailer.
