Tip: Attach the tarp or plastic on the roof to a horizontal pole that is weighted with stones or water bottles hanging from the pole. Then there will be continuous tension on the tarp and you will not need to keep readjusting it. The weights and the pole should not touch the ground. You can also dispense with the horizontal poles if your weights are set carefully in a balanced way. If you do not use this technique, your tarp or plastic roof will stretch and sag, and you will have to frequently readjust the tension. This technique will also help prevent your roof tarp from being blown off by the wind.
