Abandoned Former Long John Silver's - Wytheville,VA. Enjoy a look at this former LJS location that would become The Dawg House in a future life. Due to greed via the landlord, the last restaurant left leaving this place vacant once again.

  • Video idea: You should revisit the Chambersburg Mall in PA. The mall just shut down permanently and tomorrow is Black Rose’s final day.

I miss when we had a Roses store in Lancaster, OH. Before it was Roses, it was a Value City, now it’s a church 😔
  • I’ve never heard of that elevator until now, very interesting. Net little find
  • I had no idea that The Dawg House closed, I thought they were still in business. Never ate there but it was busy, typical landlords wanting more money. That Roses was a Surplus Property Program place whatever the heck that was. Didn't know a Roses moved in there so that's awesome. Keep up the great work Wallie!
  • I've seen, and used the pneumatic air tubes for the bank, and pharmacy drive thru before, but I've never seen an elevator, that's wild!!

Hey, Wallie...I remember both the old Long John SIlver's and the plaza behind it. It's been a while since I've been in Wytheville, but I remember visiting about 10-15 years ago with my partner. The Roses store that just popped up was a former grocery store (Acme Markets, I think) that had closed just before I made it up to the area. Further down were two other centers on the left-Big Lots and Goody's had been there and shut down, now replaced by Tractor Supply and Badcock Furniture, both next to Food Lion; the other, an old Kmart, now Rural King (think Tractor Supply and Boot Barn western wear combined). Wytheville has a lot of history, as well as some great places to just hang out, downtown, where you were on Lee St., and further up I-81. And yes, Bojangles is there (and I agree, a great snack or meal place), but the Shoney's breakfast bar down the street gets my attention. IF you get back in the area and wanna find a decent place to stay at, further up from the old LJS is the Travel Lite Inn, cozy place near downtown and a few necessities and restaurants (and they even were pet-friendly towards our cat).
  • I'd love to have a gallon of Bo's sweet tea! SO much better than sweet tea here in PA, as sometimes it tastes like sugar water. I love my sweet tea freshly brewed, and Bo has that! YUM!!
  • Dang, that place looks nice inside, but 7k/mo plus all the other overhead costs make the business case nearly impossible

we had a long johns in Lexington kentucky where they all started that for ever had a drive through that had the bucket deal until they raised the drive thru up to the window. Sadly it and all the others in town are gone now.

Sweet video!! Considering how much you love hushpuppies, I think you should put a Long John Silvers logo on your intro, if it’s possible??
  • @johnnyfletcher1961
That’s exactly what happen to our LJS in Mount Airy NC. Rent went up for the idk third or fourth time and they said “Peace!! I’m out,” sad because they tore it down and now there’s a mini mall of a starbucs, cell phone place, bank, and Jimmy johns. I’d take LJS over them places any day of the week.
  • Heya! I don’t know if you would see this, but you should look at the abandoned Arby’s in Wytheville as well! It would be interesting.
  • I love how I’m watching this and i am in a hotel in Wythvile Va right now!!!!
  • Who was jamming out with this intro? I was love vids men keep it up you are funny person i live near long johns silver it has pizza hut and Taco Bell in it

Our Long Johns got turned into an amazing mexican food place. Plus we have a Roses 20 mins south. It was a Hills. Never been in Roses though.
