Debt in the U.S. is on the rise with total household debt at more than $17 trillion, according to the Federal Reserve Bank of New York. High balances are leading many to look into different options for debt relief. Bruce McClary, senior vice president of media relations and membership at the National Foundation for Credit Counseling, joined CBS News to discuss what might work best for people in debt.

  • When I lost my job in 2020 I used a debt relief program and they helped me get out of a substantial credit card debt load. I am 100% debt free as of the start of this month!
