Fellow Jamaican here, living in Belize. I know exactly what is coming. Hurricane Gilbert is still fresh in memory. 12th September, 1988. I was 12 when that happened. Feel it for my home, stay safe people!

Watching from Jamaica, experiencing just stillness, no wind, just calm. Want it to just travel more south and loose its power. Praying 🙏

Sir, your hair style is perfect for hurricane reporting! Blown up wild!
  • We are in the Grand Cayman and it's sunny and hot! We are prepared. Our building standards are strong; all newer homes need hurricane-rated windows or hurricane shutters and straps on our roofs, but storm surges are always a worry. Boats are out of the water, and batteries and generators are all ready!

  • I fear that my Jamaican people are not prepared for this. I remember Gilbert and nothing could have prepared us for what came. I live in the US but my heart is home with my people. 🙏🏾
