Finally Someone Is Doing It

In today's stormgate casted game we see the stormgate celestial armada versus the stormgate vanguard faction on the stormgate map called lost hope.

It was a great stormgate match with some great back and forth action, micro and showcasing of some of the flagship units for both stormgate factions.

    Lategame celestials needs massive buffs

Celestials are currently lacking a ton of units but their gameplay is already really promising.

We do need a celestials vs celestials gameplay

another great game! I love the Sabers laser animation, it looks so sick! your casting just keeps getting better, too! cheers
  • I think the Celestial "tank", needs a redesign. First, having such a slow unit for a civ that has no transport capability is a long term no go, no one is going to send a unit out in the field that as soon as they tide turns they are all destroyed, that's just too risky. Further, as celestial is noted as this highly mobile type race, this unit is doubly strange in their roster.

omg the music for the celestials is really ... heavenly :D
  • I think this is my favorite game you've casted yet. felt more dynamic and we saw a large variety of units come out. Nice seeing how the celestial meta developed beyond vector spam and early game contains. I'm really liking the place vanguard is in right now. Atlas is such a cool unit, and I love seeing its shots land, and I love its derpy little walk. Vulcans are awesome units whose design offers lots of cool decision making moments, which is what you want out of a unit. their variety of turrets is so awesome, although it seems like some are clearly better than others in the current meta. Hedgehogs are really fun dynamic units. they remind me the most of mutalisks of all the units in stormgate. It feels like the faction is good at several different things and there are a lot of good strategies you can use with them. In comparison you can tell both infernals and celestials have had less time in the oven. Not a criticism, just a bit of pointing out the obvious. From this game, for example, I think the vectors and kri are both probably in a pretty good spot with their designs, but a lot of these other units aren't feeling quite there yet to me. Sabers feel clunky and like they don't have the impact their awesome attack animation would give you the impression they should. and they feel much weaker than the atlas and the hellborne, the siege counterparts from the other two races. I'm interested to see what changes those get in particular. And both the celestial spellcasters don't seem to impact the fights as well as they should for how late they come out. Although the animancer is close (and looks awesome). All in all, I'm really impressed by stormgate as of frigate, and itching to play after watching all your casts. I can't wait to play with the tier 3 units coming in EA!

That was a nice game of VvC (?) but it seems Celestial players need some more time on it to catch up experience on Vanguard or Infernals.

Looking g forward to more infernal play! Wouldn't mind a mirror match

I'll definitely reserve judgement until the T3 reveal but I do find the Vanguard late game a bit worrisome. They seem to be a bit of the face-roll protoss-esque late-game race thus far.

I think the game has the potential to be great once all the assets and units are in. I will just buy the early access pack in hope they get that far

How many videos i have to watch to find Celestial victory. I wanted to start playing with that race but feeling more bad this way..
  • celestial and infernal don't really have a stable late game. Mainly because their high quality units can't heal as freely
