  • Does anyone remember “Watergate salad“? It was a can of crushed pineapple, a box of pistachio pudding, cool whip, pecans, and little marshmallows.

This would be a great first “cooking” experience for preschoolers. Nothing hot. No electric equipment. Easy steps that lead to a happy result showing cause and effect. And a great bonding activity.

Take 4 Hershey bars (Regular or king size if you want it really chocolatey) and grind up the Hershey bars in a blender or food processor until it is powdered. Then replace the KoolAid with the chocolate. --- We call it the Chocolate Dream Cloud dessert. Otherwise it is pretty much the same recipe.

My favorite is Orange Fluff - orange jello, vanilla cooked pudding, cool whip, mini marshmallows, pineapple and mandarin oranges. Yum !

I bet black cherry Kool-Aid lie would be good in a chocolate/Oreo crust!
  • @cwarren9449
Hadn't thought about that pie in 50 years. I would use strawberry Kool-Aid and then layer the crust with sliced strawberries before I poured the mixture own. What a surprise you would have when you cut it. Thank you for bringing back memories for my childhood. I love your recipes. Keep it up
  • @SNDTEK1

I remember my mom making this for us when I was little…. I’m going to make her one tomorrow! Thanks for the memories!
  • @ruthresetar5940
Anything that starts off with sweetened, condensed milk is a winner!
  • I want to try lemon. I'm 67 and just learned that the plastic piece is a lid for the finished pie. Thanks for that tip!
  • @gojewla
Instead of coolaid, my mom used to make this with frozen concentrated limeade. The other difference is that you freeze it. It is like the texture of ice cream, and tastes a lot like key lime pie. It is so good, delicious and easy. Everyone I have served it to thought I spent a long time making it.
  • Another easy no-bake pie that is similar to this one is: Kool-Aid of your choice 8oz Cool Whip 8oz Cream Cheese, softened 1 small box vanilla instant pudding, prepared with 1/2 the amount of milk 1 graham cracker crust Mix all ingredients together and chill. It has a lot less sugar and just as good! YUM
  • This recipe has been around FOREVER. When a recipe stays around that long, it's got to be good. Pie has several things going for it, easy, fairly cheap to make, ingredients in our frig/cabinets, easy to carry and most importantly GOOD.
  • Never heard of KOOLAID pie before I found your channel--- And just HAD to make some! I made a grape pie for hubby, and a cherry pie for son and I. They were ABSOLUTELY AMAZING!!! The only downside is that NOW, They are asking for them EVERY WEEK! 😁😁😁😁😁😁😁 Son wants Lemonade flavor next! Oh--- gotta go! Gotta go make KOOLAID pies!😁😁😁😁😋😋😋😋😋😋😋 THANKS CATHERINE FOR THIS FANTASTIC RECIPE!!!💖💖💖💖

OMG!! I completely forgot about this recipe. We made this when I was a kid. This brought back so many great memories of helping in the kitchen with family members growing up. WOW!!! After seeing your video, I ran out and grabbed all the stuff needed to make it so I could make new memories with and for my son. THANK YOU SO MUCH!!!!!!!!!!
