Another thing. The whole “is another male born literally every hundred years or is it after the previous ones dies (generally around every 100 years),” isn’t as debatable an issue. Riju mentions that another male hasn’t been born even after 100 years. Probably because Ganondorf is still “alive” as we see in the BotW 2 trailer. So I think it’s pretty much confirmed that only one male Gerudo can exist at a time.

I love to think that Groose, after being rejected by the Goddess Hylia herself, went on to found an all female race of people

I love the Zelda fandom! Instead of the classic “oh you’ve only played the most recent game you must not be a real fan” bs you can get from a lot of fandoms you get videos like this and statements like “I understand that a lot of people have just played botw but are interested in the lore and other games!” It’s so inclusive and absolutely no gatekeeping!!!!

Groose: Where should I start a nation (A) Nice rockland (B) Grassland (C) Over lake (D) Desert [BAD CHOICE] Groose: D No question

25:54 He said “Upon meeting Lady Riju” SOMEONE FINALLY CALLS HER BY THE CORRECT TITLE.
  • @Rabbitzan
Riju is super adorable but I feel sad thinking about how fast she had to grow up though, due to being forced into the position of leader at such a young age.
  • @Arthus850
Surprised you didn’t mention how the BotW Gerudo have more Hylian traits than in previous games, namely pointed ears and green eyes. Possibly a result of thousands of years of procreation with the Hylians.

I miss Urbosa too much, I got very attached to her character in a mother figure way
  • @chrispork1443
Surrogate parent is like adopted parent; so the witches raised Ganondorf after he was born, possibly when his birth mother died.
  • Riju should've given Link a Gerudo Token after he stopped Vah Naboris, and if not after that, then after he literally solved the problems of everyone in town and Riju entrusted him with a precious family heirloom
  • @ihavenoidea6134
He forgot to mention that twilight princess ganondorf died standing up.

Weird how little the Gerudo show up in the franchise considering its main villain is one of them.
  • @2red2black
Perceiving himself the most powerful, in the downfall timeline, he wiped out his people possibly believing that another Gerudo male could be as powerful as him and not wanting to outdone
  • @EdinMike
The Gerudo Valley theme is up there as one of my favourite tunes in any Zelda game.
  • I love how when he messed up, he didn't cut it out, showing that he is also a person.
  • @LunaP1
Your last theory of what happened to the male Gerudo that were born is morbid, but I had the same thought too. There is another idea I have though. Maybe they were abandoned and picked up by the Yiga. Look at the Blade Masters and compare their size to the Shiekah and Hylians. Now compare them to a full grown Gerudo woman like Urbosa. The second in command Blade Master in Age of Calamity is huge. The Gerudo males that were born throughout that time were raised and trained by the Yiga.

Thank you so so much babe, best Birthday Present ever! 💜

Continuing the idea that Groose was affected by Demise's curse, it's possible that the idea of Groose's descendents being all women is a slap in the face to the masculine boi. Also, we can see in Oot how Ganondorf didn't really care about his people. Once he's taken over the land, he brainwashes his people to keep control over them. His intentions were probably good, but Demise's curse was too strong
  • @toadsworld
Your girlfriend suggested a Gerudo history video for her birthday?! ... I love your girlfriend ...
  • The people of this world should stop naming their kids Zelda, Link, or Ganondorf, then they wont have to worry.
