Here's what I understand about the story. It's about how senua trying to deny and alter the mindset that her father planted in to her mind. The mindset that she is cursed, because her darkness and that she will bring death to people around her... the mindset that torturing her for her entire life. She trying to change that thought into something that she can live with, something that she can bare. But to do that she need reason, a reason that powerful enough for her to make her believe that she is not what her father told her. Therefore she created a story. And this is the story that we played... so none of those we see in the game are real. Is all in her imagination. For example is Fargrimr. A respectable wiseman who know things that believe Senua is special. Fargrimr is nothing more than a character she created in her mind to counter her father's mindset in her. She created him as a man that sees her mental disorder not as a curse but as a gift. So now that she have two option, to believe her father, or to believe Fargrimr. Of course she want to believe Fargrimr, but she cannot choose to believe Fargrimr just like that. She need a confirmation that Fargrimr is right and her father is wrong... she need another character, character that can confrim that Fargrimr is right. A character that knows the truth. That is why she created the Hiddenfolks. So as the hiddenfolk guide her, she grew more and more confidence that she is not what her father told her.... until she is ready to erase her father's mindset. Now she need to fight her father. She set this in her mind as a combat. A battle between Her and Godi, She made Godi as a mirror image of her father. As the avatar of her father's mindset in her... so if she destroy Godi she will destroy his Giant. Because Godi's giant is the darkness that she believe is in her... then she conclude it that there is no Giant... meaning there is no such thing is Darkness inside her... is just a mindset her father planted into her so he can control her life. But at the end she after she won she realize, she do have darkness... she realize it when she about to smash godi's head with rock. She realize that it was the darkness that drove her into such anger that almost crush Godi's head. But now she understand eventhou she have the darkness, doesn't mean she is the darkness... she can never erase the darkness inside her, but she can choose to follow it or deny it... the point of the story at this part is that she now understand that there is Good side and bad side inside her. (just like everyone else) But just like all people we cannot erase our badside, but we can always choose not to follow it. So in the end the whole story is about how senua mind processing and surviving her anxiety. How her human survival instinct trying to reason with her depression so she can live on. Just like what the dev said...the game is to give us an understanding of how a person with psychosis processing their mind to make sense everything that they experience in their life. Is just that as a psychosis, she didn't realize that everything that she experience is just a creation of her own mind. Psychosis cannot see which one is real and which one is just her imagination.... in her mind, all of them are real. So she didn't realize everything in her story such as her friends, the giants, the Draugr... are all an image of her creation. A creation that she build in her mind without realizing it , a creation that her mind create to fight her depression. So I'm really sad to see some people said, the game is femisnism woke... or white saviour complex or some rubbish like that when the truth is they just doesn't undertsand what the story is all about 😓 Yes the game have more walking and less combat unlike the first one. But I really think the 2nd have more depth in the story compare the 1st. Besides... from the beginning of Senua's game project, dev already told us that the aim of the game is to bring us to the world of Psychosis... the make us understand or atleast have and idea of how a Person with psychosis see the world from their own perspective. And they deliver it to the game very2 well... so why are people complaining about the combat and walking simulator ? 🤦‍♂This game is never was about the combat gameplay... you want more combat, more bosses, more enemy variation... go buy other game. A game that actually oriented as combat game.

Senua says giants aren't real, she realized it in the end. That part is not up for interpretation anymore, it's factual. Giants are manifestations of fear of the unknown (nature) which Godi interpreted for his people as "Giants". You see how you don't find a giant in the end, just a man. That's where these hallucinations/delusions break and Senua realizes it and tell it to Godi's face. Story is rather simple - you have a tyrant controlling his men by fear and Senua, psychotic woman, brilliant warrior, destroying all that with layers upon layers of her psychosis running its show which make it all complex and beautiful in the end. Well done Ninja Theory and thank you.
  • As someone who currently can’t play this game but really wants to. Thanks for this 🙏🏼🙏🏼
  • The glass enemies are a cool concept. Breaking the fabric of Senua's reality, like shattered glass.
  • Most amazing graphics ever. It's an incredible interactive film. Love every second of the game.
  • @Andy_ZP
Okay, I played the first one. This one seems to be shorter, very very short. There isn't much to do and probably when you complete it you won't find many reasons to replay it. Honestly, more than a game it is a cinematic, graphic and acoustic experience.
  • @rattletooth
Did any of you play the first one at all? It's the same gameplay. I don't understand the complaining. You knew what you were in for.
  • @PrizMatex
Love games that utilize combat in a slow and clunky feeling without hud. Feels like I'm watching a movie with excellent gameplay!
  • @raul88.88
The Story, the Atmosphere and the Psychology of this game makes it top 3 games for me. Absolutely superb. 🖤🔥
  • @mikkokhun397
Graphic and combat pv is outstanding much better than 1.
  • I heard Ninja Theory is already working on Hellblade 3 Senua's Studio Shutdown.

Thank you for posting this, you saved me 50 euros. This is pure tech demo.... If someone interested, I actually counted everything you encounter in this tech demo: -Enemy's: 48 (One of which is the final boss, a human with a sword, otherwise it's 47) -Symbol simulation: 4 (where you search for symbols in the environment) -Ball puzzle: 3 (where you pick up balls and put it on an altar) -Fire puzzle: 2 (where you light up some torches in a cave) -Female Big Giant boss: 1 (where you simply run behind some rocks and cut down chains) -Male Big Giant boss: 1 (where you simply run on a beach and you hold some metal rings so you won't be washed away) That's basically it... that's everything included in the tech demo. 50 euros. The rest are cut-scenes and pressing W to simulate walking. The graphics are absolutely INSANE!

I had to come through to the MKIceAndFire channel , bro be gaming!
  • Thanks MK! The gameplay movie is awesome. It is like watching a Netflix movie. It is full of suspense that I could barely balance boredom and patience in watching it to the end. Haha!
