Infra knife can reach about 90-100k DPS with overclock modules. You can delete sentinel capitals within 20 seconds of shooting

I wanted a high powered sniper weapon for my ship for the longest time something like a railgun. Or dumb bombs for striking planetary targets and gathering resources.
  • @KuraSourTakanHour
A little tip to avoid overheating; mash the button and dont hold it. If you get the timing right, you can have the exact same fire rate except the overheat bar barely rises
  • @entropy11
issue with the phase beam, it will sometimes jump to a different target, so you have to be VERY careful with it if you're flying near anything you don't want to piss off.

The positron ejector is also great for farming resources from planet surfaces.

Some things to note for Infra Knife: It's the best weapon for taking down Sentinel capital ships however for faster moving targets the auto-aim can be a little wonky (on Xbox, don't know about other versions) and will often send a stream of bullets to where the enemy *was*, so the actual DPS drops down significantly. Funny enough, the regular Photon Cannon (and its Sentinel's variant) is a lot more accurate with the auto-aim. I suggest disabling the auto-follow feature and flying on full manual, using reverse thrust if the enemy comes too close. If you align yourself properly you can expect to vaporize a regular Sentinel in 1-2 seconds depending on how many supercharged slots you could spare for the IK and the ship's class damage bonus.

Knife, with two supercharged slots, and the beam, even just by itself without maxing it out, and you'll tear through ships like they are made of paper, and rarely even need to recharge your shields with the beam, but it's handy to have.

Depending on the ship, Knife, Ejector. Use phase beam for mining, but will look into the photon. Very informative video.

Infra-Knife is king. Especially when after hours of re-rolling X-graded modules I got an absolutely beautiful roll. Then I archived the module, duplicated it twice, installed them around the Infra-Knife in a 2x2, Infra-Knife on a supercharged slot. I'll edit this comment later with the actual stats.

Just to add important info Phase Beam also recharges your shields while the enemy has shields for you to drain Cyclotron Ballista has about 50% more range than the Photon Rockets are of course something you toggle to when letting your guns cool and when the rockets are ready to fire If you have at least 2 or 3 guns (rockets included) you can just hold the Fire button down while slowly toggling through the Guns, allowing plenty of cooling time for overheating, while maintaining constant streams of damage My choice is Positron Ejector, Cyclotron Ballista and Rockets Great Info, and i dont think ive ever used the Infra Knives, i may try them out but i felt they were the worst in the old days, but i may look into them
  • @Pixel000
I personally used to use the positron ejector but after maxing out my photon cannon I almost never use any other weapons.

Thank you for the concise and straight to the point video

I have 4 installed: Photon Cannon, Rocket Launcher, Positron Ejector and Infraknife Accelerator / Gatling Cannon. I usually switch between them during the fight to keep any single one from overloading, the RL is mostly the one to finish damaged enemies off with
  • @judsdragon
nice to the point vid with no fluff to lengthen the runtime, i prefer to use the old faithful photon cannons myself, i used to use photons to take shield down then infraknife after but when fighting sentinel ships they quite often do that loop da loop move a lot and the shield is back up usually so ended up switching back so i did away altogether with the infra but i may give the cyclotron a blast as i aint tried it yet, cheers for the vid much obliged for the input

I could only last long enough for taking down a sentinal frigate with a phase beam, infra knife, and photon cannon. When getting swarmed, phase beam shield leach is godly. Pirates and sentinels are nothing if I can leech off their shield. Phase beam mods and maxed-out photon cannon are Too Perfectly OP.
  • There are plenty of slots for tech if you expand your slots the right way, so there won't be issues for those who wouldn't mind using three weapons. I roll with the Infra-Knife, Cyclotron, and Rocket Launcher. Open with Cyclotron until their shield is gone, shoot a rocket, then quickly switch to Infra-Knife. You can spam Infra-Knife while the Rocket Launcher cools, so it'll be ready for you to move on to your next target. With upgrades to these weapons on a capable Fighter, you can expect to shred a single pirate fighter ship in a matter of seconds. Sentinels take a little longer, of course, but the strategy still works on them.

Great video. I tend to use the infraknife most of the time. It just looks good and sounds good to me. I enjoy it for combat and mining roids. The best weapon is actually the positron ejector though. It us actually the best weapon and roids tool period. A couple of upgrades on it to allow for more rounds before overheat and it's a true beast. It tears through ship shields and then hull like paper. Fast and efficient at mining too.
  • @ninjallama1
Awesome video, thanks for the explanations 👍
  • @sanguinetales
Cyclo, Rocket and Positron are a good combo, Phase & Infra too. I treat each ship like it has its own personality and try to craft its weapon loadout based on that.

I've been happy enough with just the photon, to drop sheilds, then missiles to finish off. Works well enough I have no worries, plus leaves me feeling like I'm doing fighter pilot stuff. However, I was unaware of what you say about the cyclotron affecting enemy drives, and someone else below saying it has longer range. I'll give that a try as a phot replacement. Thanks for the info!
