  • The Empire has this same video, except it is named “Ten ships you always check for smuggled goods.”
  • @yodaslovetoy
I think that the death star would make a great smuggler ship
  • Alan, I was hoping you could do an episode on sleeping quarters inside vessels/corvettes/war ships? What are the creature comforts in a ship when you decide to catch some well earned shut eye? Do you sleep in comfort or just a rectangle cut out if the side of the wall? I'm guessing in some of these ships, most owners live out of their ship, so it would be interested in seeing what their private rooms looks like and what amenities a private room has?

The Firefly class transport is also a great smuggling vessel. They showed the details of all the hidden compartments in the second series of the show.

The YT-1300 came in 3 varieties. YT-1300 F (Freight) YT-1300 P (Passenger) YT-1300 FP (Freight & Passenger) The Millennium Falcon was originally a F. But after 12 different names, 7 different owners, 2 abandonments and crashing into a cruise liner. Half of a FP was used to replace the missing half. Since no 2 YT-1300 are identical, they are strictly designed by the purchaser, the cockpit can be on the left, on the right, centered, or completely encased & Hidden, there's also a outer hall attachable shipping compartments, 4 in a set to add a extra 100 metric tons of cargo space.

The small freighters could also do double duty as Bounty Hunter vessels, once upgraded. And a big advantage of such ships is that it can pretend to be a smuggling vessel, so as to not alarm potential criminal targets, allowing a Bounty Hunting team to get up close. And more unscrupulous Bounty Hunters can even do double duty and use it for smuggling as well. Being a Bounty Hunting would be great cover for a smuggler, and they can also steal the illegal cargo of Bounties if they are very scoundrelous…

Somewhere in the old canon it was noted that smuggling included legal goods. The Empire drastically raised taxes on trade/shipping to pay for the massive navy and smuggling included any freight in which you wanted to avoid taxes.

So what would be the ten most profitable products a smuggler can transport? asking for a friend
  • @TheCaniblcat
I'd prefer a YT-2400 or a Mark III Bulk Transport. The YT-2400 has a larger cargo bay than the YT-1300 with even more nooks and crannies for smuggling. The Mark III is just an upscaled Mark I with ample cargo space and is immensely upgradeable.
  • I work on a purrgil class Starcruiser. With 100 passenger cabins and the legitimate business of being a luxury Starcruiser it makes an excellent smugglers ship.
  • @Angelfyre.
Out of all the CEC ships, the YT-1930 is a nice all rounder, it’s got the 2 hangar bays for cargo or a small starfighter
  • @Ronythereditor
I love the Gozonti,I got an OC who runs a bounty hunting crew out of a Gozonti. A super tactical droid and a squad of B1s operate and does maintance for the ship
  • @Mortvent
I actually tended to favor the lone scout as a smuggler ship. Cheap, 125 metric ton cargo, single pilot, lots of spare parts, good sensors. And the ship was common enough with both sides of the conflicts that it would be easy to have multiple transponders for avoiding entanglements Might not have much passenger space, but depending on the version (the b version for military) it had a very good hyperdrive and speed stock And the single laser was easily upgraded to dual lasers and a turret could be mounted (some in legends/rpgs had them)
  • @hansmerker5611
I would take the YT-2400 light stock freighter. It has a newer design, a larger cargo capacity, and is just as modular as the YT-1300.
  • @TheWesJos
My favorite is and will always be the YT-1300 as it is among the most flown space ships in the Empire/Republic so easy to lose itself in the commerce of hauling. So easy to convert and slip past security of planets. A smugglers dream !!
  • @Casey-jn3ib
Now I’m ready to sneak past those pesky Imperial searches
  • @escoson555
The Gonzanti C-roc for sure is my fav. But id also take a YZ900 or YZ775!!!
  • Mine is the AEG-77 Vigo, first introduced in Star Wars: Galaxies …
  • Good job. ((However)) You failed to mention two rather important details. The Gozanti has Special Permissions grandfathered from the Republic to the Empire to carry military grade weaponry for anti piracy defense. You did not mention that fact, nor their standard loadout. One proton torpedo launcher, two quad lasers dorsal/ventral, and four laser canon 2S/2P. The Naboo ship is specifically and infamously UNarmed.
