Any politician who is that concerned about all children being able have a lunch at least 5 days a week is alright with me. Not to mention that this dude is all for legalizing Marijuana. Waltz's has got my approval and I definitely approve this message.

Kamala is making her campaign about JOY. And Walz fits right in. I have never seen this before. Closest thing was Obama with hope in 2008. We all need joy. It was joyous when Biden stepped aside. She's the embodiment of the joy that we've all been missing. She laughs. She smiles. Her campaign is the antithesis of Trump's. It's so friggin refreshing.

Gen Xer here: I liked Obama a lot and voted for him twice. He was the first presidential candidate I was remotely excited to vote for. I'm delighted to vote for Harris. Like, I am impractically giddy about her. And since she added Walz, I'm happy. Happy! Do you know how hard it is to make a Gen Xer happy??? Sarcastic? Sure. Sardonic? Got it covered. But happy? Almost never. Until now. We can do this.

I think he plays well for moderates! Anecdotally, my parents said the Walz pick clinches their vote for Harris. Although they voted third party instead of voting for trump, she will be the first Democrat either of them has ever voted for.

All I can say is I'm happy if America's dad becomes our next vice president. I love the bit in the video with his daughter where she says "turkey is meat" "not in Minnesota turkey is special." that shit had me laughing, and a politician who makes you laugh not out of embarrassment but genuinely is a rare bird

Lifelong Arizonan here: I'm so glad Kamala went with the BEST possible choice! Tim Walz was a diamond in the rough, a national treasure who remained relatively unknown to the other states, and his political record speaks for itself. Also, AZ has a lot of crazy right-wingers, so we honestly CANNOT afford to give up Mark Kelly, even for a VP run. You've made the rest of the country proud, Minnesota! And thank you for continuing to keep us informed on all the most important issues, Leeja!

My dad's a staunch conservative and he said he's voting for Harris just cause Walz exuded this 'joyful' energy. I hope they continue to capitalize on that!

The thing about Kelly as someone who voted for him in AZ is he has a really cool resume before becoming a senator, but his actual track record in politics is nowhere as good as Walz. Never see anyone talk about an achievement Kelly made in the senate when talking about him as VP, and that to me is a reason he shouldn't have been the VP pick. Also, applauding Netanyahu under the table at his address to Congress probably would have really hurt the ticket's chances.

WALZ reminds me of how Brazil's Lula gives speeches. His bread and butter has always been talking in simple terms, reminding people of his working class background and forcing his opponents to argue about universally good things like feeding children and helping lower class kids go to college and stuff. Walz looks great.

I love that Harris chose a VP running mate that appeals more to the democratic left rather than a center-right candidate. Sick of Dems trying to pick up Republican voters by continually going further right. We need to re-enfranchise the left who keep sitting out elections. All the old Bernie bros are planning on voting now and that is the best possible outcome to save democracy and rein in our venture capitalist and tech overlords. I'm excited!
