What if you were FORCED into being historical in Hearts of Iron 4? What if you played the Black Ice, the hardest mod ever made, in HOI4 as the United Kingdom, but could only use the actual historical designs, presets, and battleplans? Are you ready to get Blitzed to death?

I've been on a HOI4 binge of using only the historical presets given by Paradox, alongside accurate, historical division organization. Can I do the same as the UK in the wonderful Black Ice mod, filled with memes and endless historicity and accuracy, and win the war?

The addition of Historical presets into Hearts of Iron IV was an awesome thing for massive history nerds like myself. Now, I play REALLY historically, using only the stupid tanks and planes that happened in real life! I'm aiming to do this with EVERY country in the game (or at least every major) so let me know a good suggestion down in the comments for more countries to play!

Imagine historical CHINA in black ice, the amount of pain and suffering would be insane
  • @thewaterlord27
Ah yes the first issue with playing black ice as the UK you gotta deal with, is you have to be playing as the UK.
  • @pollball598
Fun fact: there are no ads on Russian YouTube
  • @RahpaSmurf
It hurts so much seeing the org on the historical divisions. Not as much as it hurt you playing it of course. Love the dedication haha.

11:55 bro litteraly did the "Dyle-Bréda plan", the French defensive plan to protect Belgium and the Nederlands by setting an fallback line in the Dyle river, leading to the german "Fall Gelb" plan, or the Ardennes offensive...
  • @mgrillo2863

No Royal Artillery divisions for the 1939 army, I’m already feeling sad. Edit: about the 18-pdr and the 25-pdr. BICE is pretty accurate here, in that the 25-pdr replaced the 18-pdr, to the point that the BEF mostly used 18/25-pdr guns (18s rebored to use the same shell as the 25). The 4.5 and 5.5” guns being rare in 1940 is good, as RA post war documentation notes that these guns were rarely seen in numbers pre-1941. Edit 2: the 1942 6-pdr AT is because the 2-pdr was solidly obsolete in the face of German up-armoured panzers by 1941, but Dunkirk had forced British industry to rush good enough 2-pdr and only have free capacity to replace the poor thing in ‘42. Edit 3: About the armoured division problem. Maybe next time you can attach the Infantry Tank Regiments to the Infantry Divisions? It would reflect common practice of detaching these units from the Cavalry Regiments and simplify your tank layouts.

When, long ago, the gods created Earth In Jove's fair image Man was shaped at birth. The beasts for lesser parts were next design’d; Yet were they too remote from humankind. To fill the gap, and join the rest to man, The Olympian hosts conceived a clever plan. A beast they wrought, teeth covered in bits, Fill'd it with vice, and call'd the thing a Brit

20:42 - And that's why Dowding and Newall refused to send more Hurricanes to France in May 1940. ;)
  • @akaKuiper
Recommendation: Play Soviets in Black Ice using the WW1 Russian army layout Also video was very entertaining (and painful)
