Published 2023-01-21
Tony Robinson presents a series examining some of history's least pleasant employment opportunities. He begins in the first millennium, trying his hand at everyday tasks including back-breaking mining by ancient Roman methods, and Saxon ploughing using wooden implements and oxen. He also enters the world of the Viking egg collector, which involved scaling cliff faces in search of guillemot eggs.

2:52 "Alright, well from parks, the sanitation, medicine, education, wine, public order, irrigation, roads, fresh water system, public health, what have the Romans ever done for us?!"

Could any one tell me why the Daub didn't turn to muck when it rained.

Mike Rowe had a great series called " Dirty Jobs". It was a fascinating series of really, really rotten jobs. It was however set in the 20th century which has health and safety rules. The blokes and the women in this series were just cannon fodder for the capitalists. Believe it or not I am a believer in capitalism. The trials and tribulations of these people led to are rather plus lifestyle now.

Why did everything back then have something to do with urine or poop
