People are so shocked by some of these photos. There are still concentration camps in China and people still sell their kids in Afghanistan because of hunger. But no one talks or reads about it unfortunately

No offense to Sabrina, because she's not alone not knowing this, but the actor who portrayed the first Xenomorph in the Alien franchise died sometime after its release. His legacy has forever been linked to the film because it is indeed his only role. Unfortunately, he'll never know the impact he had despite being entirely silent. Sure, anybody could've played the part but it was his height that genuinely brought perfection to the character and experience. Overtime, they've used puppets and CGI but doesn't have the same impact.

That particular picture of the kids for sale. I read what happened to them and it really did not go well :( It didn’t for most that were sold. Most became farm laborers. Look up the orphan trains at the time and there will be many similar stories. Fortunately not all were bad.

People selling their children because of poverty still happens all over the world. I watched a news segment recently about a family selling their young daughter (I think she was 9) to be a child bride because they were poor. It was so sad as she was being taken away she was trying to resist going with the man.

The big guy in the Kathrine Switzer photo (marathon runner, 1967) wasn't attacking her. That's her boyfriend, Thomas Miller--a football player and hammer thrower. The old guy in the back is the only one trying to stop her (race manager Jock Semple). Thomas is in the process of shoving Semple to the ground.

The thing about selling children is that while it could be seen as morally wrong, most parents did it because they felt that they could not provide a good life for their children. It’s still questionable why they would sell children, but there was some moral to it.
