The style and production of Signals were augmented and taken to new heights on 1984's Grace Under Pressure. It was Peart who named the album, as he borrowed the words of Ernest Hemingway to describe what the band had to go through after making the decision to leave Terry Brown. Producer Steve Lillywhite, who gleaned fame with successful productions of Simple Minds and U2, was enlisted to produce Grace Under Pressure. However, he backed out at the last moment, much to the ire of Lee, Lifeson and Peart. Lee said "Steve Lillywhite is really not a man of his word....after agreeing to do our record, he got an offer from Simple Minds, changed his mind, blew us off,..so it put us in a horrible position." Rush eventually hired Peter Henderson to co-produce and engineer the album in his stead

Just so happy and blessed that this band's career unfolded during my lifetime and I was there for most of it.

Neil tossing the sticks casually without missing a beat. There will never be another like him.

Alex was the PICASSO and maestro of rock guitar... incredible at 'painting pictures' and 'shading' his expressive, artistic playing! He elevated the art form bigtime. Which is why he is considered one of the best rock guitarists ever. Absolutely world class, and then some!

I heard this tune 1982 signals tour. My first Rush concert. 18 yrs old. It blew my mind!!! And still does now, may 3 2020. Whew!!!! RIP Neil Peart........ Amen....
  • The myterious guitar chord progressions, the enigmatic bass drum obstinato pounding like a heartbeat, the magnificent voice of Geddy echoing like a warning to us through the powerful lyrics are forever embedded deep in my brains. This creepy song which significance is so evidently palpable nowdays. That's why I worship RUSH since childhood.🤘
  • Genius. How these three came up with so much intelligent shit for so many years is simply remarkable. Blown away by these guys when I was a kid and I still am decades later.

Such an underrated guitar solo! Alex is king of melody and mood.

One of the best performances I've seen. Still get a kick out of Neil throwing sticks in what has to be the most intense drum work ever..

I love how Geddys voice was always changing, he sounds a little different pretty much every touring cycle, this is one of my favorite eras for his voice, this concert, it has a cool, sorta dark vibrato going on. Thanks so much Rush, you were wonderful for soooooo long. This concert, this time, 1984, i think of all my friends, young teenagers hanging out then, the 80s was both ridiculous and wonderfully creative with an unmatched exciting vibe, what id do to go back for even a little while.....
