Welcome to another episode of Gamer Garbage! This time, I picked up a box of 22 untested Wii consoles from Goodwill... and in this video, we go through consoles #12-22. Check out the first video where I went through consoles #1-11 here:    • Gamers leave WEIRD stuff on their Wii...

Fun fact, only early Wii’s have support for reading DVD movies, Nintendo removed support in the hardware, so it doesn’t work on a modded system.
  • @doq
not calling the top of the scale "HOT GARBAGE" to go with "NOT GARBAGE" at the bottom is a missed opportunity
  • @MrYOUniverse
Can't believe it took this many episodes to find a modded Wii.
  • @redyoshikart
I mean to be fair, early wiis actually could read burned discs, which most likely explains why there was one inside
  • @leahx4552
Oma and Opa arent names. Its the german word for Grandma and Grandpa. Thats why they are back to back on the Wiis
  • I actually installed a chip in mine that bypassed the copyright chip in it. It allowed any burned disc to be played. It wasn't too difficult to install either.
  • I remember before you could play wii games off of usbs you had to play off burned dvds, such a throwback.

This stuff warms my heart. I still have my Wii and will never part with it. Me and my sister have all sorts of weird Miis and save data on there. This made me want to hook mine up again. So many hours of fun happened on that thing and the whole vibe of the menu and the look of it is so nostalgic. Easily one of the greatest game consoles ever.

The flashing screen likely stopped as soon as the capacitor “reformed” and was able to be capacitive again. This can happen when electronics hasn’t seen any voltage for years.

So weird, my brother is Stephen and his wife is Chloe. It looks like them and they did sell most of their video game consoles recently. If the red shirt mii is Jake then that's probably his wii.
  • I love you sharing these consoles with us! So fun seeing the games and stuff and how long since they were played, plus I appreciate the heads ups on crappy retro sellers. Thanks bro.

Yeah. My modded Wii was an early model firmware 4.2. Still have it. It can play DVDs but I didn't want to use it much to wear out the laser.
  • I really enjoy seeing the users and dates on the Wiis, it really makes me think what the story was behind the Wii and the people that used it
  • @LeoFlipnotes
why are these videos so satisfying? its kinda hard to explain but i love them
  • I know this happened before, but for when the play time for a game says over 24 hours, I think what happens is that the Wii logs the play time when you leave the game. I was thinking maybe someone maybe accidentally left it on for over a day.

Awesome video and thanks for sharing and uploading this one too! The Wii is also one of my most favorite Nintendo game consoles ever!

"a lot of people pulled out their Wii in 2020 when they were stuck at home" sounds so weird out of context.

Just to touch on the whole "every wii turned into a netflix box" thing. It was the first way for the average consumer to easily stream netflix on random old analog televisions. Everyone already had a wii, many people had a netflix subscription for DVD's already. It was the perfect app for the target demographic at the perfect time for a services that was becoming a household name.
