  • "my pronunciation is shit, but that doesn't mean I don't know what I'm talking about..." I need that on a shirt. Literally my mood in every academic situation.
  • She has to be the most entertaining yet informative derms I've ever come across and she's so pretty omg
  • @ebrubayram8930
"My pronounciation is sh*t but it doesn't mean that I don't know what I'm talking about." - I felt that on another level :')
  • @nadiaelkaid7131
I FINALLY found someone informative who talks science and analyzes ingredients, I was a chemistry student and canā€™t buy a product without analyzing itā€™s label, youā€™re my HOLY GRAIL Youtuber! Thanks Dr Idriss šŸ’•

I live with a smoker (hubby) and we dont get enough ventilation. If we get a divorce, I will cite as cause: "Irreconciliable Oxidative Stress"

The vanicream vitamin c has the tetrahex one you like, plus it's $18. It only has 5% in it, but my super sensitive post menopausal skin loves the 5%. Vanicream is the only vitamin c I've found that I can tolerate daily. I've tried 10%, and my skin was red, dry, and irritated after using it several days.

For those who are interested in seeing the study of the vitamin C derivative Sodium Ascorbyl Phosphate (SAP) being a good choice for acne prone skin, the title is "Sodium ascorbyl phosphate shows in vitro and in vivo efficacy in the prevention and treatment of acne vulgaris", it's a very nice read: they mentioned how it initially had no activity against p. acnes bacteria at the concentration of 0.5%, but when they increased it to 1%, within 4 hours it had a very effective reduction in the p. acnes bacteria, and they even showed a before and after picture of one of their representative subjects who took part in the treatment process. Thank you Dr. Shereene for making these Let's Get Intimate playlists, it helps me research even further about skincare ingredients as I initially wasn't sure where to start in terms of researching. Your videos give me a foundation of understanding and allows me to explore even further to research regarding the ingredients. I appreciate your help a lot.
  • Shereene Iā€™m a dude and half the reason I watch your postings are because youā€™re funny as hell. Your my go to on skin care. Do what you do! Youā€™ve been a big help.
  • It would be interesting to know more about integrating Vitamin C , Retinol and exfoliants in the same routine! (Edit: I didn't necessarily mean using all 3 actives at the same time, rather for the day/night and week routines)
  • @janiceonlyb2st
I was scrolling through my recommended and was like, "Another skincare video. I've binge watched more than enough of these." And was about to go right pass this video until I saw how glowy her skin is.
  • @irim.8948
The Perricone MD vitamin c serum contains Tetrahexyldecyl Ascorbate and not ascorbyl palmitate. This is clearly stated on the official Perricone MD website. Iā€™m a bit surprised itā€™s mentioned differently in this video and have to wonder about the reasons for this.

Thanks for mentioning vitamin C on sensitive skin since Iā€™ve been using it every morning and once in a while Iā€™ll use it twice a day, and I just found out the Timeless 20% vitamin C E ferulic serum is actually too high strength for me. I watched another video where vitamin C around 20% and 25% isnā€™t well-tolerated so vitamin C at 15% tends to be the best (providing best antioxidant properties while having lowest sensitivity/inflammation so highest tolerance for all skin types). So if anyone is experiencing redness/inflammation/irritation/flaky skin from vitamin C, definitely try to get 15% vitamin C. The super pricey Skinceuticals vitamin CE ferulic serum is formulated with 15% vitamin C. Edit: Please talk about vitamin E/tocopherol and vitamin B5/pantothenic acid! I love the La Roche Posay cicaplast baume b5 and would love to know the science behind B5 products.

Currently in my first year of medical school studying immunology rn and your videos are so motivating for me (perfect study break) so thank you Dr. Idriss!! <3
  • @docp4449
I love your personality so much lol youā€™re a whole vibe. But also as a PSA to everyone: dermatologists were often times the top of their class in medical school and/or had top board exam scores because dermatology is one of the most competitive residences to get into. So that just makes me appreciate her personality so much more. Brilliant with people skills and a sense of humor is hard to come by.
  • I never comment on videos. Everā€¦.. but I just want to tell you how much I APPRECIATE YOUR VIDEOS!!!! You are so thorough and make it enjoyable!!! Lol!! So many of the other dermatologists on YT are DRYYYYYYYYY and down right miserable to be watchā€¦ one of them I have to listen to with headphones because my husband canā€™t stand her voice, lolā€¦. šŸ˜¬šŸ˜¬šŸ˜¬ Not to talk bad about others, there is something for everyone, right? And you are FOR ME!!! Lol. Thank you for the time you take to make these, they help!!!
  • I love the way you always give a wide $ range of products. You show that just because a person doesn't have a lot of $$ in the bank doesn't mean that they can't have the benefits of products and have great skin. Thank you so so much!
  • @vasimakhan2846
Being a med student I would be grateful if I had a study buddy like you like it's so interesting to listen to you!
  • I feel like I just found my new favorite youtuber. She is so informational but finds a great way of delivering this to make it memorable and entertaining.
  • @KP-id6fk
After using the addition of vit C and retinol in my skincare routine for 2 weeks. I can see a big change on my skin: Skintone more even and i can feel the skin more pump. Love all of your videos. Thanks for that šŸ„°šŸ„°šŸ„°
  • I was aware that vitamin C and copper are inversely proportional to each other. I had copper poisoning from my copper IUD (Paragard) and I was researching natural remedies because I was sick and having trouble finding someone to remove it for me. I started taking a very high dose of vitamin C pills and I did experience some relief from my symptoms. Ladies, I hope this helps even one person. If you have a copper IUD and you're not feeling right, it's not in your head and you're not crazy, even if you've begun to think you are.
