Here we are, a year to the day after my first ever upload into both the Hazbin fandom, the sound design community as a serious entry and on the eve of ADDICT's own premiere. It's been a wild ride for everyone over that year, but I am beyond flattered, pleased and excited that so many of you chose to support my work up until now.
This highly requested track was actually completed many months before this upload, but my medical problems and other projects meant that I felt it wasn't the right time to upload such a thing that people have already linked with Angel's character. The one year milestone of making all this work for not just the Hazbin world but all the other franchises I've dipped my toes into and want to continue to spread out into, seemed appropriate.
The intent with these originally written scenes was to present 'MONTERO' in a different context and make it unique to these characters. The original came across to me as a song of empowerment, as if to say that "this is who I am and I am happy with that". But, with what we know of Angel's situation, I hope that I made the impression that Angel is more saying "this is who I am and I am trapped."
Thank you to the entire community who have supported my works. Thank you to @SpindleHorse and the entire talented crew at Spindle Horse for making such a unique world for us all to explore as fans. And here's to many more months and years being creative about things we enjoy.

It’s funny, because when I first saw Montero and Lil Nas X pole dancing to Hell, I did think of Angel Dust straight away. This is just feeding that. 😂

I've not heard the original song but this cover certainly makes me want to check it out! Never realized how fitting it was for Angel. The story goes well with it, too! Angel needing to score a deal with a client on Val's behalf, putting on a good show since he's Hell's #1 porn star, and he seems to enjoy it, but once the client's had his fuck he bounces, not giving a damn about anything else even when Angel had something to say. Poor guy. Awesome job, DJ!!

Valentino's hold on Angel Dust could also have to do with the idea of Angel enduring 70+ years of addiction/contractual sex and yet still have a will of his own, with a need to feel loved and supported. I just imagine so many others in his position who have become mindless slaves ready to jump at Valentino's orders but are dead behind the eyes. Angel Dust is a wild horse always one step away from being free. Hence V's constant challenge to keep him in line.
