Dr Saqib hit the nail on the head with his last statement. We have betrayed our covenant to Allah we are no longer the middle nation and we are no longer one ummah being a good example to humanity, instead we have become 57 different countries each competing and sometimes hating the others. Our elites are too corrupt/unjust and our ulema are stuck in the past with their sectarian differences, but this panel gives us some hope, may we have more people like them

With our everyday life of high corruption among the ummah, the riba that we deal in our business, the high domestic violence and divorce rate, we think that it shouldn't affect us as an ummah. But it does. And untill we change for the better, then Allah will help and unite the ummah. Allahu'alam. May Allah guide us to His straight path. Amin

Bismilah I strongly believe the reason why our prophet PBUH and his companions didn’t do tafsir on the entire Quran is because that the Quran is a book which stands against the test of time. Because of it’s timeless. Our relationship with it is live it and take lessons from it. What does this mean? This means there are many gates or door which one can enter to understanding the Quran for his time and period, no one generation, even the best of generations can possess complete knowledge or understanding of the Amazing book.

Readers would find it interesting that back in 2009, an article was published in Haartez by a Jewish writer that spoke of the destruction of the first two temples and interestingly those accounts are the same as explained by our contemporary scholar. The Jews too believe that the destruction of the first temple was by the Babylonian king Nebuchadnezzar and so on. The article is titled "The End of the Third Temple". Also, Dr. Yasir Qadhi did record an interesting lecture on these verses some 3 years back. He was contemplating on how these verses should be viewed in modern times. The punishment for not fulfilling the responsibility of dawah will not be a traditional azab but the azab of humiliation...May Allah show us the path to come out of the current crises with garce.
