The BEST video on minimalism ever. We Americans can't see the forest for the trees.
  • I really appreciate the way you take your message one step farther & inspire us to not only shift our mindset to gratitude for what we have but also action toward helping others.
  • @rebeccaross1715
Iā€™m so proud of how youā€™ve facilitated all the help for those down at Dorothyā€™s House. Please feel free to be as emotional as you want to be! God bless you, your family and your work!

As someone who lives in a border state, I so appreciate you shedding light on the reality of the wonderful people south of us. They are humans, just like us and should be treated with respect, like our own neighbors.

ā€œTravel is fatal to prejuidce, bigotry, and narrow-mindedness, and many of our people need it sorely on these accounts. Broad, wholesome, charitable views of men and things cannot be acquired by vegetating in one little corner of the earth all one's lifetime.ā€ - Mark Twain. Dawn this is the best gift you an give your children. Thank you for posting

Weā€™re going through major life changes, needed changes. Our goal is to downsize our home and possessions by 1/2. My husband wants take a less demanding and stressful job which means less pay but better quality of life. We are able to do this but itā€™s scary and exciting. Weā€™ve been taught to work until youā€™re dead and over consume. Weā€™re gonna teach our kids differently.
  • @PositiveKindKids
I love how becoming an influencer hasnā€™t changed you. And how you keep being your amazing self šŸ’•šŸ’•šŸ’•

I volenteer in a different way. I have rheumatic artritis and I teach medical students to recognize the early symptoms. So patients get diagnosed and treated more quickly with a better outcome. I gained a wonderfull community of fellow patients/ teachers and love the interaction with the students, who appriciate our lesson so much. Voluntering, community and giving to others comes in so many shapes and sizes.
  • The young girl in blue crying while entering the house, you could feel the appreciation. ā¤ļø

When you go from living with a hoarder to having a ā€œnormalā€ amount of stuff with lots of empty space, itā€™s life changing and so encouraging. Itā€™s taking a while to get used to it but Iā€™m making a point to dance in the empty spaces. I couldnā€™t believe how blind I was to what was in my sentimental box and that some stuff made me anxious and some stuff was just kept because it was from the 80s. I kept even less stuff and there were no regrets.

When my daughter was in high school she went on a mission trip with her youth group. They rebuilt a women's shelter that had burned down. She was so moved by it she organized a linen drive. She collected bedding and towels to send down for the shelter.
  • We have tons of opportunities to do these same volunteer projects here in the USA if people don't want to travel. At the least help elderly widows in a 5 mile radius of your own home.
  • @ParkDari
I appreciate hot water 24/7 deeply. I mean DEEPLY APPRECIATE!!
  • @lauraoergel6003
DAWN, you did this!! You helped make lives better, and the space youve made in your home has given you the financial and emotional space to bring better lives to our brothers and sisters in need. Thank you for sharing. Just remember, every person you help to declutter has more space to help others. Its not just declutter, its peace you bring to the world
  • @LizagnaG
As someone who lives in San Diego, I really appreciate your positive review of Tijuana because itā€™s such an amazing place with great people. Hope it opens a few eyes to the culture and beauty of Baja California. Also , I love your videos. Thank you for all you do. šŸ’•

Straight out of Proverbs! Lord, give me enough but not so much that I forget who YOU are!
  • @wattnowchris
I volunteer with an organization called Icing Smiles. We provide celebration cakes for critically ill children and their siblings. Iā€™ve been decorating cakes for 45 years and I get the most joy making these cakes. It has helped me increase my happiness and reduce my depression. Iā€™ve also begun volunteering as a foster for herding dogs. Herding dogs are often purchased or adopted by people or families that donā€™t understand the unique needs of these animals. If provided with the proper physical and mental stimulation along with behavioral training they can be wonderful pets. But many are turned into shelters because their owners didnā€™t know what they were getting into and didnā€™t want the responsibility. So these dogs are often euthanized because they arenā€™t easy. So I train and take care of some while they wait for their furever family.

After connecting with your videos a few years ago, I began my simplified life journey, and now refer to myself as a ā€œjust enoughistā€. šŸ˜

My first mission trip, was to Tanzania Africa. I have been very much a minimalist since. You see how happy the people are with so little. Our stuff just stresses us out.
