The MD acquisition and their philosophy was what ended up screwing up Boeing.

Compared to your first video on the MD12, the model now looks much much better. Its great to see you improve and grow man.

Considering what happened when McDonald Douglas took over running Boeing, Airbus must have felt they dodged a bullet

My father worked at Boeing at the time of the "buy-out". What he said he saw happening is that the Douglas execs basically took over Boeing. He said, "Douglas bought Boeing with Boeing's money". He took early retirement and left.

If MD was able to make it cheaper then a 747 I wonder how many engines would have fell off.

I have been waiting for this for a long time.. Thank you F and E

My god, what I would give to take these models from the show and put them into a flight simulator! They are AMAZING!!

If Mcdonald Douglas survived Boeing would have never gotten so shitty as of late =/. The airline industry needs true competition. It would be cool if someone like Cesna decided to go big or if Lockheed decided to make an airliner
  • Just imagine an Air Force One version of this…and congrats on 700K

The computer animation is first class. Love how that A^A livery looks on it. It is always impressive to imagine all that could've been in aviation.

MD-12 Twin ... If it just had engines from almost thirty years later, it could have been amazing.

Only time I flew in newish DC-10, when I moved to Canada 1976. Little did paying customers knew DC-10 had number of design flaws . Four years later number of them crashed because faulty cargo door latch design and weak jet engine mounting bolts. Were main ones.

Knowing MD it would have been rushed into service, built on the cheap and the double sized passenger doors would have probably blown out.
  • I knew about this program. It's one of airplane YouTuber's favorite "I-bet-you-don't-know-this-plane" video's.

@foundandexplined a suggestion for a video. The double deck B767. It was supposed to piggy back a half of 757 fuselage on on its aft section. Cheers!
  • they really missed out on the twin jet version because that's what we need right now.
