I'm a trans man who has never been into make-up. I am here for the chaos
  • Oh yeah, most validating trans story I have. The first time I went into the makeup store, an older lady (about my mom's age) saw how confused I was and volunteered to explain how to pick a concealer and how to apply it. She was so sweet it made me cry (in a good way) Most people will be very friendly and non-judgemental!

5:15 “As trans women, we don’t really like balls” is my favourite quote ever

As a retail worker on terf island, I confirm I just want to go home. But also feeling like I actually helped someone makes me want it less bad.
  • @casketbace
The little shuffle spin is hilarious 💀
  • "They're a retail worker, they just want to go home." This is ten billion % true. Because I'm a horrible grotesque man, I may not exactly be this videos target audience, but I can appreciate the results all the same. I always worry that any compliment on your appearance I post in the comments might come off as creep and objectifying, but you always look lovely in every video :3 I promise I won't send you any DM's requesting that you dress up as a toaster - at least I'll try... ;p

Also remember everyone, that you do not need much makeup, expensive makeup, whatever. You really just need some base, blush, prob eyeliner and also some lipstick if you want. Not much else you need, which is the opposite of what many videos tell you! You don't need to buy more than 4 cheap ass things to look great!

Also a good motivator: many women don't do makeup as good as you see on YouTube videos where everything's perfect. At some point you'll see people having makeup on where you realize, for example, their eyeliner lines are not as straight as yours or their mascara is not as good applied as you have learned. My point is: don't overextend yourself into perfectionism, and just have fun experimenting. It's not about being perfect. Because over time you'll see in practice that many people with makeup don't do it YouTube style perfect. As long as you have fun!

My tip: When buying makeup in a store, speak in an extra deep masculine voice and act as if you are purchasing it for your gf. As an icebreaker you could say how much beer you can drink.

I'm genderfluid and afab, but don't feel fem enough on my fem days. This will help me ease that worry and dysphoria, thank you so much Alice!

I can't tell you how many times I've looked up "how to do makeup for trans women" and get nothing but complex tutorials for more experienced people. Nobody (until now) has made a tutorial for adult beginners to makeup targeted at trans women. Please make more stuff like this. Also I'd die to see you and ICKY collab.

1:05 "And I wouldn't pass like that." That's a lie if I've ever heard one.
  • @IttiBittiMay
As someone who is AFAB, I can't express how grateful I am for you stressing the importance of practice. I'm 23 and have been doing my makeup for a decade. I still struggle with aspects of it and am still learning how to do looks that compliment my face. There WILL be "bad" makeup days. It just happens. As someone who is a big fan of eyeliner, my best advice is to also invest in a makeup remover and eyeliner brush for clean up! I'm ashamed to say I only just started doing this. It's saved me a lot of time from having to re-do an eye because it doesn't match. Also, most importantly; you are SO beautiful, it kills me!

This is my first make up tutorial ever as a baby trans. Just what I needed, simple make up with simple explanation, lots of fun and chaos. Thank you so much <3 Kiss from France

I think, you pass without makeup, too. ☺
  • @JohnDoe-pq5fu
Thank you for making this! I've been putting off buying makeup since idk wtf I'm doing. This made it a bit more approachable
