Today my loving cat Persyte has died. She was 17 years old and she was ok till last 1 month. I miss her too much. She was like my own child.

Cora sought out a safe place to rest and avoided my company. On her final day she walked in the garden, desperately trying to stay alert, before collapsing on my bed from heart failure. She was 20. May she rest in eternal peace. 😿😿😿

I lost my 15 year old cat 4 weeks ago, worse part, I was overseas and home 2 days later. Grace, my cat, lived with 3 legs for 13yrs and in the end was doing lots of those things written. I couldn't find her one day, she was in the wardrobe, sleep behind my head, go on my son's bed. I have another one the same age, let's see what happens with her. I have other cats, but I had Grace for nearly 15yrs, I miss her ❤❤

My twenty year old cat retreated to a secluded room in the basement just days before he died. Wouldn't even come up for food. When I brought him some he would eat, but very little. I came home and he had passed away behind a book case. About a week before he passed my brother was visiting. He always made it a point to play with the cat. This time the cat rubbed against him and purred steadily the whole time he was there as if to say good bye. He knew he was dying.
  • My 15 year old cat who was always affectionate with me and slept with me every night distanced herself from me and slept in a secluded place in her final days and my 16 year old cat who passed a year later had always been super independent, started sleeping with me and seeking affection alot

Very true my neighbor had a very old grey tabby named Nemo. He lived with us too about 50% of the time. But he'd want out we simply left and went home to his owner. The last time I saw him he had lost a lot of weight. He was very grumpy independent little cat. The last time he said goodbye to me. I held him for like ten mins or longer. Just looking into my eyes purring. And rubbing my face. He died either mins or an hour later. He went under the woman's really old huge front porch to pass. That was a Friday, Monday the owner was crying. Thinking I took her cat which I never would, and she knew this. He too had a big burst of energy his last few days. And said goodbye to a few other kind neighbors. nemo was near or twenty years old like 100 in human years.

My beloved Manny who was cat number three, in 2019 could no longer walk, refused to eat, and I was in the kitchen and he called to me hoarsely. I tried to give him water but refused. He liked being with me on the couch and I carried him and put him on the couch. Then I got this cold feeling and immediately put my boy on my lap. I was petting him and to,d him how much I loved him. His dog sister I sadly had to put down a year earlier at the age of 16. As I was stroking Manny I told him it was OK for him to leave and be with his dog sister, I kissed him again and told him how much I loved him. He took two last breaths and passed peacefully on my lap. I cried all night. He’s buried next to his dog sister in the back. I was devastated. I had tried to get another dog but we never bonded because I’m still too bonded to my late dog. But I had cats long before I had a dog and looked and looked and inquired about another cat. No car I can’t exactly go to a shelter. One night as I crawled into bed my Manny appeared. He looked ragged as he did in life with no eyes. Now that freaked me out. He sat next to my pillow and I begged for a cat. And no I didn’t feel silly one bit. Well a month later I inquired more for cat information and the girl who worked at the corner store said they had two kittens. But I had to wait a month until they were old enough. It went by so slow. I asked again about the kittens and since she and her boyfriend lived next door to the store, she got her boyfriend to bring over the two kittens. I had my carrier and was anxious to meet the two kittens. I fell in love. They were free. Irony? My boy cat I named Manny2 has the same personality as his namesake. His sister, Money, has the sweet temperament of my late dog. Only difference is that my two are not only my first pair, but first non Siamese yet they act like Siamese. They’re my picture when they were kittens. Manny2 and Money are now four years old. My dog and precious cat left this world, both showed how much they loved me, and my two cats now have their personalities only different bodies. As I write Manny2 is beside me, his sister on my lap. When Manny2 talks he sounds like his name sake. And like his predecessor, I had to earn his trust and love. When he marked me after our first two months I knew I was his. His sister took right to me. I love these two. And when I start missing Manny, Manny2 crawls into my lap and is more affectionate than usual to comfort. I still sleep with my dog’s teddy bear. And she appeared once in a flash to me and a perfect stranger and barked that night downstairs. It was her way of saying still here! My girl knew what I had to do. She couldn’t walk, refused to eat, had doggy dementia that never would’ve believed had I not seen it myself. Although she refused to eat her food, she did eat some honey with me. I was crying as I apologized for what I had to do the next day and for any mistakes I made raising her and my Chihuahua girl licked my tears away and I slept on the floor with her. At first she fought the needle. The Vet stepped out. I took my Chihuahua girl’s face in my hands, gave her her usual forehead kiss, told her how much I loved her and that she could go now, and she didn’t fight. She reminded me of cat number here who had to be put down. He was attached to a fluid I.V. I was crying and he comforted me. Taco knew. They all tell you when it’s time. And they bear no grudges foe any past mistakes and they still love you. My two cats now know how much I need them. And have no doubt they’ll let me know when it’s time and they’ll be told how much they were loved. The older I get and I’m getting up there, the harder it is to say goodbye.
