Perhaps the most common comment I get is some version of "yeah capitalism is bad, but what can we do about it?" I figured it was about time I made a dedicated video to answer that question. Let's read a little theory!

"If I stop to help this man, what will happen to me?" But then the Good Samaritan came by. And he reversed the question: "If I do not stop to help this man, what will happen to him?" MLK

"But what can we do?" Absolutely this! So much media making cautionary tales and not enough about solving said problems.

We need to change our city planning, car dependency atomizes societies.

13:58 I prefer the expression “History doesn’t repeat itself, idiots repeat history.”

I've actually just joined my local DSA chapter. I have no idea how I could be useful; I'm a scientist, not a political organizer. But years of experience working in medical labs have given me so much frustration with our for-profit healthcare BS that I have to do SOMETHING.

Being a vietnamese studying in US when I was 17, I could not understand the dilemma of how a country so rich still have homeless people and the streets are not clean like Singapore, this is no different than my country (this was back in 2016). Knowing more now, I appreciate westerners with marxism understanding, spreading knowledge in a language that's I am not good at. TY 👏

Glad more people are supporting the channel! This channel has been many ex-liberals' first step to becoming socialists.

You can find Lenin's What is to be done as an audiobook from the channel socialism for all
  • "HOW do we organize? How do we even convince one person, let alone multiple, that 'organize' is even a real freaking word?" That's what needs asked I think.

As individuals, there is nothing we can do to fight the Robber Barons. There is no war but class war. Make no mistake, the ruling class is fully aware of this and the lessons learned by their progenitors during those times are still taught to them. They know how power works because they were born into power and thoroughly educated in where it comes from and how to use it, while the rest of us are trained to submit, obey, and conform to the wishes of the powerful.

When you said "what can we do" I knew. Lenin forever.

Thanks to your channel, I joined my local DSA group and we've been able to get DA's elected and bills passed. We get plenty accomplished. If you want stuff to get done then you have to get busy!

Almost all problems could be solved simply by making it financially worthwhile for people to SHARE the jobs we would almost all agree we NEED to have done and work much less. No more doing anything WE don't agree WE need. No more slaves building the rich their mansions, Yachts and pleasure rockets to space etc, etc, because we need THEIR jobs and THEIR money.
  • Any Australian comrades in the comments: - Community Union Defence League - Aus Communist Party - CPA - SA SAlt Get amongst them. They (we) all hate each other, but JT's point stands. We need to get organised. 🤝 🫂 ✊🚩

Thank you for answering a very common question. Also, a 100% grassroots funded Second Thought is a very good idea. Off-topic, but idk if you take video ideas, but here's a few of mine: -Socialism and the notion of a free press (one that many people have misconceptions about) -The relationship between democracy and socialism (another one that many people have misconceptions about, equal to if not greater the first one) -Compatability of Socialism/Marxism with religious beliefs (as a Christian myself, this is one of the biggest question I have as a socialist) -Socialism and federal/decentralized models of territorial administration (same as the first two and the second-biggest thing I think about as a socialist)
