I'm early, let me think of a joke. America.

Imagine being a coal miner with a Trump health care...
  • @VikingPickles
I really don't see what the problem was with what Hillary said. Basically, "We're gonna put coal miners out of a job, but give you a much better one." Only an owner of a coal mine would dislike that.

If there is a war on coal why wouldn't you want renewable energy to win?
  • @ryangreen3382
Clean coal? Does that mean I get like "dark grayish lungs" instead of "black lung". Sweet

Hilary basically lost those two states for telling the truth and being realistic.
  • @TheLadyoftheday
Does trump know that there is not an unlimited amount of coal? It's going to run out. Someone educate the oompa loompa

My buddy in Kentucky says in the mines someone is either brutally injured or killed on an average of once a month.

This would have been funny if it wasn't our reality. 😒

The coal industry is dying and there's literally nothing anyone can ever do to stop it. Time relentlessly moves forward and it's incredibly arrogant, to say the least, to think that something as puny as human insecurity and nostalgia can force it to go rewind. Renewable energy is the future and it's objectively the best choice to make in this scenario, whether or not anyone likes it and despite how expensive it may initially be.
  • Okay so I totally get that Hillary could have worded what she said better, but what she said was true. So much for people wanting politicians to "tell it like it is" she did just that while Trump lied.
  • I feel bad for the coal mining communities hurt by coals decline. But they had a chance to vote for someone who told them the truth and had a plan to create new jobs and training opportunities in other sources but they CHOSE to vote for the guy who just lied and told them what they wanted to hear and made promises impossible to keep.

For sure, cuz that's better than educating them and getting them better jobs. You know, cuz everyone dreams of coal mining for a living... Go team America
  • In class, we are learning about South Africa and talking about Trevor Noah and his book, Born A Crime. I just want to congratulate him on the great book
  • Dick Cheney and Wyoming are responsible for the death of small coal mines. Cheney, who is from Wyoming, lifted regulations on fracking. This means cheaper clean natural gas. In Wyoming there is the Black Thunder Coal Mine. This is the largest open pit mine in North America and they just happen to have the cleanest coal in the world. The state of Wyoming has legislated hard for CLEAN COAL regulations. Now tell me, who killed the Coal Mining business? The exportation of coal has never been higher? The Coal mines in the Eastern United States have the dirtiest coal. Why would we mine it? I was a hard rock miner (mining gold, silver, platinum, copper, lead, zinc) and I worked all over the Rockies, Alaska, Canada and Central America. When our industry slows down we go to the tunneling business or get normal jobs. We do not whine and cry and expect the government to give us handouts. Coal miners act like they are national hero's, what is up with that? Coal miners need to face reality and get prepared for change.
