Wait... The Boo item doesn't actually steal an item? Oh God... "You take the blue shell, the story ends, you wake up in Peach's castle and believe whatever you want to believe. You take the red shell, you stay in Bowser's Castle and I show you how deep the Mip's Rabbit hole goes."

TAS explanations are some of my favorite videos in all of YouTube, and they're such a rarity as well. Love the video, keep up the good work!
  • @Abyssoft
Huge thanks to Drew Weatherton for help on this video, go check out his channel in the description. Micro500, Beck Abney, Sean Sullivan, and abitalive all deserve a mention as well for their contributions to making the TAS possible.

the odds are 1 in 3.43 unvigintillion. it is a named number, it's just that no one really uses anything above a quadrillion. a unvigintillion is 10^66, the general table of named number just stop at a vigintillion (10^63) because why would you have a bigger number?
  • @NickWrightDataYT
Seeing the resulting time of the "speedrun" for making the CTRL drink is honestly way more helpful than you'd think
  • @DavidWonn
Good explanation overall. 15:47 The Kalimari star shortcut also works on lap 0 and on negative laps. I'm unaware as to whether the game was coded to prevent it only on lap 3 or whether it was prevented additionally on laps 4 and beyond though.
  • @AkumaAPN
The part about the lap counter decreasing when you go backwards got me thinking. Can you drive backwards for a million laps, and have a lap counter of negative 1 million? Or is there some limit? Just thinking it would be a funny prank to set up a level with a high negative lap counter, and then tell a friend to "finish the level." Lol.

A video from you after a tiring day? Amazing A 50 MINUTE VIDEO about the legendary Mario kart 64 from you? My week has officially gone from normal to absolutely fantastic❤❤❤❤

“A number so large, it’s not named.” Actually that number is named. It’s called “3.43 unvigintillion”
  • @camwyn256
Playing this as a teen, I always felt that stars were faster than mushrooms. Now I know I was right to feel that way
  • @AnacondaHL
I hope this TAS is updated with all the modern techniques, so many more brilliant things can now be done, even by humans!
  • @BuddyCorp
Excellent video. Concise, well presented, and has enough of the technical details to explain the tricks without getting bogged down in them. Great work.
  • @DeepInZero
It's so interesting to listen to WR/TAS explained videos. Thank you for your amazing work, keep it up!!

Imagine traveling back in time to the 90s and play some Mario kart in a store demo
  • @andrerenault
I can only think of how much we've learned about this game since this TAS was created and how much more time could be saved now.
  • @bigcrebs
The combination of subject matter, presentation, and explanation makes this my most favorite piece of content I have ever seen in my life...and it's not even close.
  • The number does have a name, unfortunately. It's 3.43 Unvigintillion
  • @finn464
EVERYTHING I asked myself during the TAS was answered in this video, from RNG manipulation to character weight stats. Thank you so much for making this.
