The Grand Ethiopian Renaissance Dam is one of Africa's biggest infrastructure projects. But Egypt worries the Ethiopia's prope might come at its own expense. Negotiations over the dam's operations have dragged on for years, with neighboring Sudan caught in the feud, and both Egypt and Ethiopia hinting at possible military action over the project. Attempts to reach a final, comprehensive deal have ended in deadlock, with many key questions still open. Do you remember when Egypt was denying that they are part of Africa? They thought they were better than other African nations. Ethiopia is the heart of true African countries. Most of the African countries back Ethiopia and not Egypt. Egypt looked down on Ethiopia for generations. They never even said a simple thank you for the water and soil that has been flowing from the highlands of Ethiopia and built their country and wealth. Egypt knows how poor Ethiopians are, and people walk for hours and days to get water. The majority of Ethiopians don't even have electricity access. They never offered any help to Ethiopians while they were enriching the country and the people. And now Egypt looking for war if Ethiopia controls its own water in its own land. And all Ethiopia is asking to share the water equally with even more population than Egypt. Pls, tell me this is not crazy.

It is because Egypt is living in the fast. Egypt is still thinking like a colonizer. It is too late Egypt! We stand with Ethiopia in the sun and in the rain.

  • So the people of Ethiopian have to live in the dark. The Egyptian has there own dam built on the Nile. Why is it a problem? I think Egypt. Is scared of losing the states of being a power house in the east of Africa

I am from Ethiopia and we need the dam very much many of our people don't have electricity and they live in a poor rular area this can change for us but I hope Egypt and Ethiopia work things properly. war doesn't benefit anyone it only makes people hate the other country more. we Africans don't need war, we poor we need to develop first.
  • @Andrew-nu8ez
Ethiopia has all the rights to build the dam. How can Ethiopia trust Egypt and the West? Egypt needs to find other means or pay more. It's time for Ethiopia to develop and enjoy life. Where was the help when Ethiopia was poor?
