hello ppl... pls stop telling me to not take medication because YOU personally didn’t get on with it, everybody has a different experience with medication...also telling me to “do my research” about ADHD medication is kinda.. very.. patronising. I wouldn’t be starting medication without doing my own research, asking other people about their experience and talking to my psychiatrist about it... i am aware of the side effects. i thought i may as well try it out because i do feel like i would benefit from medication

It's so funny seeing how much of the audience has ADHD as well in the first minute lmao
  • @elitevald2561
my mom doesn’t want me to get diagnosed with adhd because she says “why do you need labels? just be yourself” like i just want to know why i cry and hit myself in the head because i can’t focus

'I don't think we should stereotype anybody...apart from straight people' this line is GOLD

"I knew I was a bit weird but I didn't realise how much" - big neurodivergent mood
  • @leggy2720
Either people with ADHD need to stop being so relatable, or I need to see a doctor...
  • @jasonsaysno7408
all his audience has adhd because we're the only ones who can keep up with him lmao
  • A few nights ago I was talking to my mom about my weird pacing habit and I said it could be due to ADHD, and she said "You've been diagnosed with ADHD since you were 8." I don't remember anything about the diagnosis process?? I don't remember being medicated for it?? I didn't even know I have it?? She just decided to tell me a freaking DECADE LATER that I have it???
  • My brother: diagnosed with autism and ADHD My sister: has anxiety My dad: has ADHD My mom: has anxiety My parents: refuse to get me tested even though I have symptoms of multiple different mental illnesses, claiming I'm "normal" Me: shuts down and sinks into deep dissociation where I have no idea what's going on for hours at a time due to many co-morbid mental conditions to the point where I don't function for at least two days a week at different times My parents: still refuse to get me tested

people who don't appear to have ADHD, are generally the ones who score low on hyperactive ADHD because that's really all people know about it
  • @lucasr3548
they had diagnosed me with autism at first bc i was quiet and didn't speak much but a different doctor was "no that's not autism, that's adhd"
  • @catking1059
AFABs are under diagnosed. I’m 27, going to discuss getting screened with my psychiatrist next month
  • @shellstutes
“Appearing ADHD” in the eyes of an average person usually means you have hyperactive symptoms or hyperactive type
  • Funny story: I was screened for autism when I was younger. They told my parents that I definitely had autism and probably had ADHD, but they couldn't diagnose me basically because I masked too well. This was when I was so obsessed with Ben 10 that I watched the first four episodes that we had on DVD on loop for hours on end every week, and couldn't eat anything remotely flavorful. The point is, if you've noticed symptoms of neurodivergence throughout your life and either weren't diagnosed or weren't screened as a kid, don't worry, you'll probably be able to more accurately describe your own experience and get a diagnosis as an adult. At least I hope... I'm 14 and school is hell because of my obvious neurodivergence that even doctors agree I have that the school can't accommodate because of my lack of diagnosis. :7( So yes I'm a bit hypocritical in this comment, but the point still stands.
  • me, a trans guy also named Noah who was just diagnosed with adhd: mood

"when you have a task that requires a lot of thought, how often do you avoid or delay starting?" I FEEL SO CALLED OUT THIS IS MOST OF MY PROCRASTINATION 😵
  • This video was so validating as someone who had a similar experienced getting diagnosed with Autism Spectrum Disorder. I was 17 when I started the process to get diagnosed, though I had suspected for years before that, and I was actually diagnosed at 18. I had very obvious symptoms in childhood but later learned to mask them better, so I was the one to bring it up with the psychiatrist I was seeing. I was so afraid that I was just being paranoid and attention-seeking, so it was super relieving and validating to get the diagnosis.
