SCP-049 is a humanoid entity, roughly 1.9 meters in height, which bears the appearance of a medieval plague doctor.
SCP 049 will become hostile with individuals it sees as being affected by the Pestilence, often having to be restrained should it encounter such. If left unchecked, SCP049 will generally attempt to kill any such individual; SCP-049 is capable of causing all biological functions of an organism to cease through direct skin contact. How this occurs is currently unknown, and autopsies of SCP-049's victims have invariably been inconclusive. SCP-049 has expressed frustration or remorse after these killings, indicating that they have done little to kill "The Pestilence", though will usually seek to then perform a crude surgery on the corpse using the implements contained within a black doctor's bag it carries on its person at all times3. While these surgeries are not always "successful", they often result in the creation of instances of SCP-049-2.

Potential origins for SCP-035 & SCP-049. I was not expecting that. Then again, it makes sense that both may have their origins in Alagadda. The land of the Hanged King (SCP-2264-5) is very fascinating, & the idea that these particular SCPs came from it makes sense. Although it makes me wonder how the Black Lord lost his face (SCP-035) in the Foundation’s dimension.

Before, I was intimidated by 049 because of that mask and dark robe and menacing eyes, but now I see him as a polite gentleman just doing his job

SCP-049 not being able to remember his origins other than his purpose of being a plague doctor is very interesting, because he has lived for so long he may either forgotten his origins or if he really did came from alagadda.

This place honestly just seems like another scp of its own, like a Euclid version of the red pool. I do love the Plague doctor, he's so well-mannered for being such a dangerous scp.

I must say that this story had everything, a possible response to 049's appearance, the possible connection he has with 035 (or at least because he knows him) and most importantly, one of the few appearances of 035 as "Black Lord of Alagadda", which aligns with the more recent stories 035 has been used in (specifically SCP 6500, a nice long story that's still under construction, but one I highly recommend).

As much as I enjoy these origin stories, I do think I preferred hearing about random SCP's for the first time. However, your work never disappoints.

I have always enjoyed your videos Dr. Bob, but it feels like all the scp youtubers I enjoyed just suddenly stopped making content about the more obscure ones and hard focused on the popular ones like 049. The animation is amazing as always, I just miss learning about other scps that you found that I never heard of such as the headlights and smokey.
