Reality is no matter where a person goes everything becomes the same. People will always be "searching". You can move to every place on this earth and you will eventually fall into a routine. The beauty of life is having peace within. As long as you have that it doesn't matter where you are at. This is not directed at James per se, it's just life perspectives. Like someone said having hobbies keeps you busy.

My wife who is Thai and myself are getting bored of Pratamnuk. Like it here a lot but it's a big world out there. Routine can wear a man down. After a trip back to Canada this summer moving to Samui for a change of scenery. After that? Who knows. Maybe another country for a while. Need to have new experiences.

Had a condo in Chiang Mai since 2004. I really hate bars where bar girls work. I prefer bars where they serve food and only can fit 20-30 people. You can mingle and enjoy yourself. Maybe try other parts of Thailand?
