About Me:
I’m Mary, and I run The Block Vintage on Etsy! I live in Raleigh, NC with my husband and our three dogs - Tyra, Winnie and Archie. I’ve been obsessing over and collecting vintage since I was a teenager, and have been reselling my finds on Etsy since 2009. More recently, I've partnered with some amazing ladies to open a multi-vendor handmade and vintage mall in Raleigh, NC. You can get details on that at TrunkshowRaleigh.com!

I had an experience similar to yours. I purchased in May and I really like the assortment of items I received and thought they would move. Fast forward to today and have just now sold through 5 of the 10 items. I'm thankful I have made a profit but nothing close to what I anticipated. I think their retails are inflated and the market is oversaturated. I hope it puts your mind at ease to know you are not alone. 🥰

hahahah you crack me up! You are seriously one of my favs to watch.

yikes!! I have still not tried this one because I feel like this will be my experience! I am in love with the flashback editing at the end lol!!
  • I bought a box of 10 items from them last year and I had a very hard time moving the items. Like you, I was excited about some of them, but not many others were. One dress was so cheaply made I couldn't even get our local BST to buy it. Now I'm afraid to try them again, but I'm needing inventory and not having much luck at my local thrift stores.

Don't know if you will see this, but I bought from B&G first time 3 days ago, and was horrified as to what I received. I spent close to 300.00 and they sent me garbage torn shredded clothing that was to be high end items-NOT! I sent it back and will re-order and see what happens...I hope you left a review on their page. If enough people rate the garbage they are trying to pass of on us, they may step up their game! We now live in times where we are trying to stay afloat and make a little money, and when these companies sell us crap we need to hold them accountable!
  • I’m glad you did this. So far I have only bought from thred up and they have been ok. I am scared to try these other liquidation companies.

Alicia mentioned your channel and I thought I'd check it out! I remember watching a bunch of people unbox their B&G stuff and I was like... Not impressed. Sorry you haven't made your bucks back yet!
  • I am so sorry, I hope you at least break even. I have had terrible experiences with B and G. I bought 3 of their highest end bundles and a spanx box. I have had the bundles(30 pieces total) for about 4 or 5 months and only 3 of the pieces have sold and for low prices. They sent me a bunch of pjs and a bunch of swimsuits. There were some nice FP and Reiss items but they were XS which don't do well for me. I sent a bunch into Thred Up because it wasn't moving. The Spanx box was even worse! They send me a bunch of hose and no substantial pieces. The Spanx pieces are not worth more than I paid for them. I prefer Jomar or Thred Up. Jomar has forgotten to send my order before and their Cali pack was horrible - cogs was really high for that one and nothing is moving. Honestly, the pieces that do well for me are preowned. The nicer NWT move slowly for me and roi using these liquidation places is not great for new pieces.
  • @gorjes
Oh no! Sad! At least you sold the FP items. I have trouble selling that brand but for some reason I keep picking it up. I thought about bg trading but now I’m like NAH. lol! PS have you gotten your shoes yet?!?!?!
  • @AuroraBetty82
Agreed! I bought 4 boxes from them and I think I’ve only made my money back on 1! Boooooo
  • Ughhh. I keep holding off on pulling the trigger for B&G. This doesn’t help. Lol.

I got a box from them once back in February and I've only sold 3 of the 10 items. I live in Canada so with the currency conversion and the extra shipping each item cost me $14. Will not ever buy from them again.
  • @playhawttt
Im really not the type to buy a mystery box lol nah don't get another box .
