I just want to say that I realize the stigma behind being a police officer right now. I am not advocating for or against police officers in the video but simply sharing my experience. I realize the issues all over the country with police brutality and I see where change needs to be made. That being said, I do see both sides since I have been on both sides. I hope this does not become any sort of political debate as I simply want to share my experience. Thank you!!!

  • Going through the academy now, about a month in and I've been questioning whether the profession is for me every day. I'm not young, in my mid-thirties, and after hearing a lot of the TAC staff and their details about the job and department....I'm just not feeling it. Same thing as you said, people around me are telling me to stick it out and blah blah, I just don't want to be a quitter, but the interest is already passing. Trying to do a lot of soul-searching. Thanks for your transparency and being as open as you were about your not-so-great experience, it's very brave of you.

You made the right decision leaving. Our toughest decisions are usually are best decisions.
  • Police is trained for militant and tyranny personality. I have a few friends who worked as police officers who dont act like that though, one older guy I went to college with is a former army vet who worked as a police officer and I wouldn't known he was a former police officer because he was really cool and friendly personality and big pot smoker lol. What I respect about you is you seem to have the good attitude and don't follow bad examples of police officers.

I’m glad I quit and started my own Trucking company and love it.

That’s a pretty shitty situation you were in , especially if you have the supervisors harassing you when you did nothing wrong . I’ve seen this happen at my department
  • New personnel have been treated this way for decades. Employers looked the other way and refused to do anything about it. There is a whole generation coming into the workforce who refuse to deal with this BS and hazing style treatment. All the best in the future Kali
  • You seem like a very sweet girl, sorry you went thru went that. It’s a touch field to go thru it shouldn’t like that in your own work place
  • @mysterygirl5291
You seem like a very authentic lady…..unfortunately you will more than likely have trouble anywhere you go. I learned a lot from your video…thanks for posting

I worked in a small town in NH. The supervisor was a bully, was very two faced and would threaten staff. I brought things up and they retaliated, they began to out things in my personnel file and made me look like a pos. I walked out of work after a stupid meeting with the chief, she was smirking trying to get me mad in front of the camera in the interview room. A year later, they had investigation launched against them and the bully was fired. Hello Daniel Wicks, sucks to suck!
  • As a good cop will always do what is right for public people freedom and always stay away for doing bad jobs for public people freedom. It's the best way do not hurt or take away public people freedom. Because one day it's could be your family or friends family or your neighbors or poor people who have live very difficult hard life. I hope as a good cop will understand that.

Yeah probably best you got out of law enforcement, definitely dont have the mentality for it. Why do you think they are all hardened? They see and deal with the worst of the worst, day after day, it takes a toll on you.

Everything you’ve said I literally been through smh and I’m disgusted by these people especially for the crap I’ve experienced, my FTO tried his hardest to dog me.
  • @boston312
I did LE for a year, the probation phase was exactly how you described. If i stayed on id be dead of a heart attack by the age of 50.
  • @BADDASILK
Thank you for your story. Your are very pretty also!
  • @Roger-il8iw
Definitely try to join a larger department if you are new. The smaller departments tend to be looked down on, and take the rejects from the more respected agencies. Sounds like the jobs just wasn’t for you, but props for trying. Most cops experience more trauma than you would in the military.
  • FTO is a very important, if not the most important position in a department. They don't get enough credit.
