  • Congratulations on the video! in this simulator you are the best!

The officer of the deck should have known something was wrong by the ominous music playing in the background.
  • @thunderbird1921
Andrea Doria's survivors were very fortunate that numerous ships were able to respond pretty quickly. That probably saved hundreds of lives.

I respect the captain of Andrea Doria more than the one of the Costa Concordia

Piero Calamai died at age 75 in 1972 a broken man, his final words were "Are the passengers safe.?"

My father was a U.S. Navy pilot. He was ordered to fly to the wreck site and offer assistance if needed. He flew a PBY that could land in the water. He told me that when he was there the ship was listing heavily to starboard just as your video shows...He said he stayed there for some time before he was told to return as all the passengers had been safely evacuated.
  • I’m surprised that the Stockholm was able to stay afloat after the collision
  • One of my favorite ships! I first learned about her through her fictional sister, the SS Antonia Graza from the 2002 movie Ghost Ship. When I was 10, I used to think the Antonia Graza was real, and dreamed of finding her and restoring her to make her my personal family ocean liner. When I found out about the Andrea Doria, I felt very sad that she can't be raised and restored.😪 I won't be missing this premiere.

weird that the stockholm still sails today
  • [Read more on the article] here's the story of the cunard ausonia liner: [ on 1909 the ship liner ausonia was built by a another line. Soon in 1911 the sister of the ausonia was built, the franconia. In 1918. The cargo and passenger liner was spotted by a u-boat. They torpedoed the liner she sunk in minutes, also, the sister of the ausonia, franconia sunk by u-boat u.s.s uc-47.]
  • This illustrates another tragic fact about sinking ships. And that is that even with life boats, it's still no guarantee you'll survive. Especially with the HMHS Britannic.
  • Beautifully done history comes to life with your work. This is simply outstanding, thank you for posting it to UTube for others to enjoy.

I was a kid when this happened. I still remember reading about it in the newspapers. I still remember one story. It seems when the Stockholm pulled away a a girl in her bed came with her from the AD.
  • @R4c3r_10
Always loved the Andrea Doria. Can’t’ wait!
  • @10gamer64
The Andrea Doria is surprisingly similar to the Empress of Ireland sinking and somewhat to the SS Artic's and Admiral Nakhimov, just with thankfully, much less lives lost, Also, commemorate all of them by making videos about them, plese
  • @YHTheGamer
Great video as always, your ship simulator videos are really enjoyable to watch:) R.I.P to everyone who died in this tragedy:(
  • The captain was truly honourable, much unlike that of Concordia.
  • @shravslol
