This week we have a very exciting guest join us in the diner, it's Alec Benjamin! You probably know him from his hit songs "Let Me Down Slowly" and "Water Fountain" that have amassed over two BILLION streams combined from those two songs alone. He talks to us about what got him into making music, what almost took him out from his music career, and gives us a look into who he is as a person behind his angelic vocal cords and beautiful song writing. He's funny, philosophical, and one of the most genuine people we've had sit on the couch.

He also has a new single coming out December 8th called "I Sent My Therapist to Therapy" so be on the look out for that, and if you haven't already check out his most recent release, "Different Kind of Beautiful," available everywhere now!

We hope you enjoy!

My favourite Alec lyric is “even with a scar this butterfly flew.” I loved this interview. It’s always so wonderful to hear Alec’s opinions and thoughts on topics outside of his music. Thank you for sharing this :)

I love their dynamic in this episode, hands down one of the best guests
  • always liked Alex’s music, he’s a poet; but never knew he was such a great personality. So genuine, sweet, polite, he really shined in front of the camera—captivating, really.

"I feel like my self-worth is wrapped up in the utility I provide the world, and I don't know if the purpose of life is for me to be happy" (paraphrasing). I don't think I've ever heard a sentiment expressed on a podcast that more deeply vibes with my perspective and view of myself. I really didn't expect Dropouts to be hitting at my deep philosophical and emotional self-reflections. =O

my favourite alec benjamin lyric is "I'm thankful for my sister even though sometimes we fight, when high school wasn't easy she's the reason I survived" cause my brother one time said he can relate and that pulled at my heart
