You can tell Rory has been watching Chelsea for too long with these dire tactical takes.
  • @torodfs7593
fucking christ for a second it looked as if he had Harry Maguire playing the no. 10 role 😭
  • You done everything without Trent in the team when Trent is one of are best players putting Maino and palmer in the team before Trent is crazy
  • @Thomas-xp4tg
Rory is playing fifa. How can you put saka as a wing back and Belligham in cdm ? Belligham plays false 9 for madrid. You cant just put any player you need balance

It's more important to get Trent in this team than Cole Palmer. What Trent does is unlike any other player in the team, play him inverted LB and allow him to roam around playing passes all over while Rice and the defenders do most of the defensive work, Trippier doesn't get near this starting XI imo

433 Pickford Arnold Konsa Stones Trippier Rice Foden Bellingham Saka Grealish Kane
  • 4-3-3, which turns into 3-2-4-1 in game with back 3 Of Stones,Maguire & Shaw/Gomez, Trent as RB Inverts into Midfielder next to Rice because trent passing range. Foden and Bellingham in middle as Dictators of game then Saka and Gordon on wings creating width with Kane Upfront being fox in the box.

Xabi Alonso has changed the way I view a 3421 formation: although it seems negative at first, it can actually become very attacking when using the right players (and coaching them well, of course).

Bellingham Palmer and Foden are all similar players you need a player like Trent who offers something different in the midfield with his passing
  • i like 3 at the back but i think Trent can play that RM/RWB role very well and you take out Trippier and play Saka LM/LWB We seem him before there and it will make sense because he is left footed.I know that i am biased but actually it will make sense because Trent can invert in the midfield if its needed to control the midfield and Saka will play as a overlaping player crosing the ball on his left foot but also if needed he can defend quite well this will make a very balanced team with options depending on the opponent.

You need to think back to the "golden generation". The way to win a tournament isn't cramming in as many good attacking players as possible. International tournaments tend to be won by the least flawed team. The last setup is the best chance England have to win the Euros

Just going to throw a little idea out there, Pickford - GK Trippier - LB Guehi - CB Stones - CB Trent - RB Rice - CDM Connor Gallagher - CM Jude - CM Phil - LW Saka - RW And then Cole Palmer as a CF, false 9 style like old school Bobby used to play for Liverpool. Can easily swap Cole in other games to Harry for a target striker Bowen swaps with either Phil or Saka I think people miss out what Connor brings to this England squad

Foden will get stuck out on the left wing if he has to play in front of a left back that can't hold width offensively. He has worked as a winger for City when he has played there this year because either Gvardiol or Walker attack on the wing and let him invert. England doesn't have a viable left back option to allow Foden that freedom. I think having him in the middle and someone that wants to hold width and will do defensive work on the wing with Foden in the middle is the way to go. So the second option, but grealish or gordon instead of Palmer or you could put Foden on the right because he does that with Walker all the time at City. But I think Southgate will go with option 3 and Foden will get stuck on the touchline...

I feel optimistic about this EURO 2024 campaign, I think England can actually win this one, there's quality throughout the entire squad.
  • @sydneyfrench13
People trying to squeeze Pen Palmer in the England STARTING squad is baffling. Saka, Grealish, Gordon, and Bowen all start ahead of him. You CANNOT play Pen Palmer on the left. He is a bench warmer this Euros.
  • You can go one better and put walker as centre bk with stones and put trent at right bk then all our best ballers are on the pitch
