BMW E63 650i center resonators delete + xpipe exhaust mod

Published 2015-03-13
Check out the before/after sound on the exhaust modification on my 650i, removed the two center resonators, and welded in some straight pipe with X-pipe.
Sounds fantastic, no drone, no noise inside, great for every day driving.. much better than stock.
thanks to Autopia Garage for the hard work

where exactly did you put the xpipe more towards the rear or dead center or by the manifold and also what other mods did you do to achieve that sound

07 550i owner here.. want to step up my exhaust game and I'm thinking about copying your set up.. couple questions: 1. does it drone and if so at what RPMs? 2. what size piping are you using and what are the inlet and outlet sizes of your x pipe? 3. did you lose power down low and gain up top? thank you..

I'm thinking about doing this to my M6 along with starughtvpuoes but don't know if I want it that loud. I do want a more aggressive sound though. have you changed since this video or is it still the same? Thanks
  • Hi, Could you explain me why you chose to only remove resonators and not the mufflers? What difference does that make?
  • @dferrismaine
What diameter comes off Cats, and in to the Mufflers. Looking to do same thing as you did here.

Could you possibly tell me where to get this x pipe?
  • @deebreezy4376
Do these have secondary cats and if so did you remove them?

Sehr guter Racing - Sound, passt besser. Wo bekommt man sowas her? wieviel kostet das alles? Bekommt man damit TÜV?

It sounds cool in this video because the mufflers are still cold and did not warm up.  It sounds nothing like that after 1 minute when the mufflers heat up.  Trust me, I did the same thing and ended up going with a real cutback system.
