Dark winters with no sunlight for many weeks, and bright summers with sunlight 24 hours/day. How is it to live with the extreme light conditions that countries in the Northern hemisphere have?
In this video I want to share my own personal experience and perspective of living with the seasons in the North of Sweden, and take you on a journey to the darkest and brightest times of the year, and share the beauty and the challenges that comes with them.

I hope you will enjoy it! Thank you so much for watching! ♥

Northern Sweden seems like an introverts dream to live.
  • "A flower would never force itself to bloom during the winter. So why would we." THAT HIT HOME.

I was born and lived most of my life in the Northern part of Russia. Your video made me cry. Our northern views are very similar to Swedish ones. Words cannot express how much I miss the white nights and the polar nights, the severe northern nature. I miss picking mushrooms and berries in the fall, and breaking birch branches with my grandmother in the summer for our Russian sauna. It always seemed to me that a human should be drawn to places where life is easier and sunnier, but I moved to Siberia and realized that I will forever remain a northern person. I hope to return there someday and definitely visit Sweden.❤

I’m 58 years old and live in regional NSW, Australia. This is the most beautiful vlog/landscape I’ve ever seen. I was mesmerised for the entire vlog. Thanks for sharing your life and experiences.

Even in the darkness we still get light. From 1000s of suns far away. That is just amazing

I want to visit northern Sweden before I die. It's a beautiful land and for someone who has always lived in a tropical climate like me it must be a great experience.

You know that a youtuber is a legend when she never tells anyone to subscribe, but millions follow her.
  • She’s so young. I did not have this mentality about life in my twenties. 😭😭😭 I’ve always loved and appreciated nature, but the discipline she has and the discipline it takes to live this way is so powerful and beautiful.
  • Here I am 3.5 years later, seeing this video again that first introduced me to your channel and that got me through one of the hardest winters of my life. I'm rewatching all your English vlogs from the beginning because they bring me so much inspiration and comfort. I am so grateful for you and your channel Jonna. Thank you so much for sharing your world and your life with us all. 💖
  • "If a flower doesn't force itself to bloom in the winter, why should we?" Absolutely amazing
  • @arkmeta
Most epic quote ever.. Regarding life in general... "A flower would never force itself to bloom in the cold winter, so why would we?"
  • @dsadsarsdsa9179
A flower never force it self to bloom so why would we. It’s totally made my days ❤
  • Just discovered you. I am speechless. I watched many YouTubers living off grid in Alaska and other places, I love the beauty of nature but this video… Oh my Goodness. You can cure souls with your videos. New subscriber. Thank you for the beauty!!! Much love ❤

This is so relaxing to watch. Thankyou for the great video
  • Joanna, thank you for educating me about the light vs. dark in Sweden. You are such a lovely woman. Your dog loves you so much as you enjoy the rising winter sunlight.😊
