The previous government’s Rwanda deportation scheme has already cost the British taxpayer £700 million, Home Secretary Yvette Cooper has told the Commons, branding it the “most shocking waste of taxpayer money I have ever seen.”

The Home Secretary is then rebuffed by shadow Home Secretary James Cleverly:

'Labour has given an effective amnesty to thousands of asylum seekers'

Cleverley is a fine example of the failure of nominative determinism.

That's all they did in the last 14 years. Just wasted tens of billions of pounds of taxpayers' money, then complained there was no money for public services.

If this is the level of opposition, then the conservative party is no more.

And will anyone become a countable for all that tax payers money? This is really serious, what a bunch of incompetent losers!

The UK should work with the UN in bringing forth a comprehensive solution to immigration since immigration is NOT a UK problem but a UN problem.
  • That money went in the pockets of tory mates. Surely this requires investigation.
  • Having being gifted 100s of Millions of pounds, I am sure the Rwandan Govt won't too bothered about not being notified right away. Not so Cleverly won't speak about the money he and his govt have pissed up the wall. Unforgivable given the levels of poverty and homelessness in the UK.

Make Sunak pay it, it's his f up.
  • Jame C should NOT have a pass to enter the House of Commons, let alone a seat. He and his government should be ashamed of themselves.
