Evacuees from Union Island arrive in Kingstown on Tuesday, July 2, 2024, one day after Hurricane Beryl devastated thier island, destorying 90% of the houses damaged, according to government estimates.

  • We see how no one knows what tomorrow holds ,today you have a home tomorrow we can be homeless .today we have life ,tomorrow we can be lifeless,live and love one another today make God a part of your life now and walk in obedience to all his commandments ,He will take care of us all. Satan is the destroyer ,God is the one who shields us from the power of the destroyer .God kept us alive through it all, give thanks for spared life,with the help of God we will rebuild.

    Having a concrete roof is not going to stop a category five hurricane. I pray all these folks get the support they need immediately.
  • Sorry but there are disadvantages to concrete roofs My concrete roof verandah was leaking and roof man repaired it but there is still leaking In Jamaica the eye of hurricane Gilbert passed over the island ...slow moving...we were battered for over 12 hours during night Many concrete houses esp in hills were flattened

    In times of uncertainties, I try hard to find reasons to laugh. It's infectious. Others will do it too.
  • The man is right concrete roof but be wise and put wood first, then over lay the wooden roof with concrete, doesnt have to be to heavy. Think is any leak from a concrete roof can be expensive depending where you are from, so build roof witb wood first the over lay it with concrete
